Aly you didn't even mention soaking chin deep in a HOT tub when your muscles are all sore and achy. :celebrate

After all of the years with no water I bet you will never waste water again even if you try! I have spent several stints with NO plumbing. I have captured the dish water in a bucket under the sink and had to dump it outside. I only had to overflow my bucket a couple of times and I learned A LOT about water conservation.

It really does amaze me how much water people waste.

What's going to be hardest, I think, is watching dish water go down the drain - I mean, we recycle that into toilet flush water. lol

A couple years ago when my parents still lived in the house 15 minutes from us, mom was making macaroni. She just set the pan she wanted water in down in her sink and turned on the spigot. They had well water - so not water bill - but still. She walked away from the pot to go do something else real quick - with the water still running.

I jumped up and got to that sink just as the pot overfilled. I turned off the spigot and told mom, "Hey, there's too much water in the pan, what do you want me to do with it?"

Her reply? Just dump some of it down the drain!

I must have looked at her like she had 3 heads or something, because she chuckled - actually she laughed out loud as it was very amusing to her I guess. She said "I guess this seems like I'm being wasteful to you, huh?"

I was like, well yea! That's liquid gold going down those drains!

We ended up pouring the excess water into her Brita Pitcher to be used for drinking later. :)

Hey - who else thinks that getting a well on the premises and having access to water 24/7 entitles me to get more ducks???? :hide
