Merry Christmas to you, too, Bee!

I'm baking cookies for Santa with the kids right now. :D Each kid wanted to make a different cookie. Ok, it's Christmas Eve! I'll indulge!! So while they are "cleaning" their rooms, I've been bringing them out one at a time and baking the cookies of their choice with them.

My 3 year old chose chocolate chip cookies. No surprise there. LOL So those we made first. Made funfetti cookies with my 5 year old, and my 7 year old son is going to be making candy filled sugar cookies and my daughter wants to make m&m cookies :D

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but we are having a lot of one on one time with mommy and it is a blast!! It's Christmas Eve and they are each getting "their" moment. :D I can't think of a better way to spend Christmas Eve!! Oh and I am taking a million pics of them stirring their cookie batter and putting the eggs in. I think adding the eggs is their favorite part! My five year old's egg exploded down his front, and while I cracked up laughing I thought he was going to cry, until I got it cleaned off him!

I'd tell you now what I got him, but I don't know that he won't be reading over my shoulder later, so I'll tell ya'll after tomorrow. But I will say this, I am so excited about what I got my husband, because it is something he has wanted for awhile. I cannot wait to see him open his gift!! It's going to be torture waiting for the kids to get done with their presents!!
I can feel your excitedness through the pc, QA! :D

It sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day! This is our second Christmas without the grands. Hearing of your fun sure makes me miss our three.....

Awww I wish my kids were little enough to have a day like that with them! It sounds like so much fun:>) It must be so very special for them...yes, we are already at Christmas Eve...it is too quiet at my place so far...the guys are out doing the skidoo thing, as usual, and I don't get company in until boxing day. Tonite we are going to have Christmas eve with our 'adoptive family down the road..they've adopted us and it's a huge famly to begin with...but it has become a tradition I think to spend Christmas eve with them:>)

It has been a long and trying day.

I suspect DD's puppy has parvo. :( It's not eating and drinking on its own so I've been pushing fluids with a syringe. My vet is open tomorrow at noon, so if I can get the pup through the night, we'll be at the vet as soon as possible.

I plan on staying up all night to continue pushing fluids. Can't let her get dehydrated or we'll lose the fight.

Been giving pedialyte, water, and broth via syringe. Also gave her a dose of pepto to help ward of the vomiting. So far so good. Last spell of vomit was at 2 pm and she has since then kept everything down I've put in her. Only administering fluids at this time because everything I have read has said to not give food when doing the round of fluids.

I've been praying over this pup all day. Crazy I know, but it will just kill DD if she loses her pup.

There's other areas I would like to post in, but there's a lot of emotions going on here today. I struggled with guilt over the pup. Maybe there was more I could do, or something. Couldn't get her into my vet because he was off for the holidays and the ER vet wanted $200 up front before they would even treat the pup and I just didn't have that. So we had a little funeral today.

On top of that, a neighbor down the road called. She had two ferrets. One died day before yesterday from starvation. Would I please take the remaining ferret and care for him. :/

Of course I said yes. I can't seem to say no. UGH. He'll be here tomorrow with a huge cage.

Been cleaning all day disinfecting the house. I am praying my 5 year old yorkie doesn't get sick. She is UTD on all her vaccinations, so she should be ok. Still, I'm keeping an eye on her. I'm just paranoid now, I think.
