Don't know how cold it is right now, nor do I want to know. Tomorrow is NOT supposed to get above 20*. I cannot tell you when the last time was that we had a daytime high that low.
Thanks for the article, Skr8pn! It is definitely an interesting one! I'm going to print that article for my Java file since I'm at the library.
Javamama, Fattie is still fat, and I'm still not sure if she is bred.
Now on to the reason for my ER trip to the library - I have a complaint!
And first I'll say, if this makes me sound selfish and rude, I don't care, because it involves my DD and she's our top priority right now and everyone else who thinks their stuff is more important can KISS IT.
My mom was supposed to watch Baby Boy for us tomorrow. Supposed to as in she is NOT now - mostly by our choice made out of anger towards her.
Tomorrow is jury trial - I mean, it's THE trial, we'll either get a conviction or not. E, DD, and I have all been subpeoaned (sp?) to testify for the prosecution as witnesses. We've built up a "Support Group" of people who will be in the court room for our DD's benefit since E and I will probably NOT be in there (but they said they may release E as a witness tomorrow morning so he may be in the courtroom).
So this morning I was trying to hammer out final child care details with my mom, like will she stay at our house with him or drive the 45 minutes home with him and we need to know so we can tell Becca's mom whether or not we need her to get the boys after school tomorrow.
I couldn't get a straight answer from my mom. Now, at the beginning of this month she said she could do it, and now I'm getting things like, "Well, I don't know, I'll need to talk to [step dad] because he had other opinions on what should be done about tomorrow and I don't know about [12 yo sisters] school work tomorrow."
I asked, "Can't she do extra work today or even the day after tomorrow? Or will it really hurt if she skips one day?" (I mean, they took off a whole week to go to Missouri to see my brother and his wife in Missouri for Thanksgiving - what's ONE DAY for a court trial??)
Mom replies she doesn't know, she'll need to talk to my step dad - and I want to add that she was really slow about replying and I could hear her playing my little sister's Nintendo DS in the background.
Mom says, "Sorry, I'm just distracted by a few things right now."
To which I reply, "Like the video game you're playing right now?"
She says yes, and I hang up so furious E said I had smoke coming from my ears, nose, and mouth.
So I've put out a couple phone calls and am supposed to know if I have a sitter for tomorrow by this afternoon.
*sigh*
You would think that this would be important enough to bend over backwards to keep your babyboy. I don't understand people. People in general just... well, I've nothing nice or constructive to say, so I'm just gonna give you another and let it be.
Take a deep breath. I've gotten permission to take tomorrow off. Was planning to support your girl, but I can watch Baby Boy, whether it is partially at the courthouse or at my place.
