Well, as someone who's gone through the pain she has, just know that you do get through it. Especially with all the support she has.

Nothing you can do about him :hu

Wow. That's terrible. He'll get his someday. Karma. Unfortunately it's not as satisfying as a guilty verdict would be...

Maybe it's not always as satisfying - Karma loved a friend of mine. Two men were dead within a few years (one by a disease and the other by falling asleep at the wheel) and the other man is living in fear for his life right now. Got to say I love Karma. I know that's not always the case with everyone, though. I just hope it works out well in this case.

wow. what a sad statement of our justice system. But, like Abi, I can assure you that simply your belief and actions will be more to your daughter than a conviction. My dad stood by and watched for 4 years.... my mom thought she accomplished a great deal because she "gave D the cold shoulder".

With a strong support like you, your DD will fight her way through this.

You still did the right thing and your dd knows it and will be stronger for it. There is a reason it is called the "criminal justice" system...there are so many loopholes, common sense no longer comes into play.

You all gave it the best shot. You have done the best for your daughter that anyone ever could.

Rest totally assured ... he is not getting away with anything. He will pay a price FAR greater than any slap from a court room. I was worried about the verdict as soon as they decided not to have a jury trial. :( It is all about secrets. Having all of the people on a jury hearing the tail ... well then the laundry might get some air.

Bring on that millstone!! :hugs

Oh yeah ... the judge will have one as well.

I think you should hold a special family court, and find him guilty yourselves!
Certainly you have friends that can join in making this a formal occasion.
Then, have a big celebratory potluck after.
