I never suffered from morning sickness, so can only imagine how punk you must be feeling. My friend Miki kept saltine crackers on the nightstand and wouldn't get out of bed before eating a few each morning. It seemed to help her for the first 3 months. Hope you feel better soon!
Congratulations !
Candied ginger is used for nausea and safe. You just want tiny nibbles at a time, though cause it tastes strong. I always drank ginger ale for nausea before, but these days it's hard to find the ones with the natural flavor.
I was so sick w/my DD that I wasn't able to keep anything down for the first 3 months. I almost ended up in the hospital. If she had been my 1st, she would have been my last. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm feeling some better - still some nausea but no more vomitting YAY.
Now, it's the battle of the cold. I blame my FIL. He's been sick for days - and what's he do? Comes down to OUR HOUSE and coughs all over the place, whines, and expects us to drop everything and pamper him.
And when we didn't he threw a tantrum, called our house, and even accused E of trying to "cause an argument" because he didn't pick up his dad on the way to get hay.
Good grief.
I have to confess to being a bit spoiled. E has arranged for one of the local Amish girls we know to come to the house once a week and help with cleaning. It was more to help them than to help me, because we knew this family has been struggling to make ends meet. That being said, I have enjoyed having her at the house. She helped me do 5 loads of laundry in one day AND she has been keeping an eye on Baby Boy so that I can take a warm soak in the bath - giving me about an hour of quiet time every Thursday. I've been taking a warm bath almost daily, but only on Thursdays is there someone else to entertain Baby Boy because E is usually outside doing his own thing.
This week, Thursday is the 3rd. We usually go to town with my FIL on the 3rd of every month and do all our shopping in one trip. I wasn't planning on doing it this week since Emma will be over. My FIL threw a fit, started to be whiney about how "but he wants to go to town and it's not fair that we don't want to go because Emma's coming".
Hey - I don't want to give up my hour in the bath for him!!! I suggested we could let Emma in the house and just tell her we'd be back shortly, but it does irritate me that my FIL thinks our lives should revolve around him.
I almost wish one of his OTHER kids lived close by so he could go bug them.
Fattie the goat is going to a new home this week. Lola the alpine mix will be going to my mom's hopefully this month, and I've convinced E that Luna and Lydia will be no trouble and somehow have talked him into building me a goat pen this spring LOL
We have also found a home for Mick. They are working out arrangements to get him picked up this week. I'll be glad but also sad to see him go. He's getting a good home, and he's a good horse, but I think deep inside, he's a pig in horse clothing.
Next week I have my first OB appointment is next week - I think on Wednesday.
One of my friends locally here - lives on the other side of town from us - is also expecting. She's a couple weeks behind me, being due around October 2. It's kind of cool having a friend going through the same things, but at the same time not. This is her 4th child, and she's having complications already. In fact, they thought she may have miscarried, but the baby was still there doing well. She's on bedrest and supposed to be taking it easy. Yesterday she had her OB appointment - a follow up after an emergency sonogram - and I accompanied her because her husband couldn't get off work to go. I waited in the waiting room and afterwards we had lunch at Bob Evans.
Their eggs and bacon was delicious, but the homefries really did me in! I was sick the rest of the afternoon and couldn't eat anything else.
My brother is graduating from Drill Sargeant training/school this month. So, my SIL is coming in from Missouri this weekend, and then she and her mom are going to S. Carolina to watch my bro graduate. Then, they'll be back up here to visit for a week. This is the SIL I LOVE.
She's bringing me a gift, too! A kitchen Aid mixer that she dumpster dived in Germany!!! She had called when I announced I was preggers on facebook, screaming into the phone how excited she is for us, and we talked for two hours. She's managed to call once a week since then, and each time we talk for two hours. I love this lady! They have two daughters, and my nieces may be spending a couple weeks with me and E this summer!
