What a beautiful newborn! And I don't think I've ever seen a SMILING newborn picture so nice.....was it really just gas or is your baby really that happy? That is an amazing shot.

It was honestly a completely accidental shot. She was sleeping through my friend's "photo shoot" of her, and was making all sorts of different expressions in her sleep. I'm pretty sure what we're seeing is just dream expressions, not expressions she was intentionally making. :) But, still made for an adorable photo!

My friend said she's going to have it printed up to an 8x10 for us - and maybe a couple smaller sizes and wallets. She said she was going to print up a whole little "package" for us - but there are about 50 other poses she took, and in several different outfits, so I'm sure the package will be made up of more than just this one  My friend was just having so much fun.

Your friend must have been thrilled she caught that moment! It looks like the stuffed animals are "in" on the joke, or like they just told her the joke and she is giggling.

I don't think I could accurately describe her excitment when she snapped that pic. Kid at Christmas? She was so excited and wanting to show me that she hit the wrong button and accidently shut her camera off

so glad she didn't accidently hit delete! :gig

Thank you, everyone, for the compliments on our baby girl. She's been a very good baby so far - so no complaints.

Still feels like I need to pinch myself so I know I'm not dreaming and that she's really here. Then I stand up and my stomach reminds me that she really IS here, I'm indeed NOT dreaming, and no pinching is necessary

I HAVE TWO PRINCESSESS!!! :th

I spent all day yesterday is so much pain, not even my prescribed pain meds were helping. I was sure I'd popped a stitch, or moved wrong, but was trying to figure out how when I've absolutely followed my dr.'s orders and haven't picked up anything heavier than baby girl.

By yesterday evening, even lifting baby girl off my chest was painful. I couldn't hardly stand up straight to walk to the bathroom or anything. Sharp, shooting, burning pain in my right side. I was freaking out wondering if I had torn something or popped an internal stitch or something.

So yesterday E got baby boy to lay down and nap, so I took baby girl to our bed to lay down. I slept for about an hour. When I woke up, I had almost no pain. I thought, wow, this is great. Either my pain meds finally kicked in, or I needed more sleep.

Got up, went potty, sat back in the chair to nurse baby girl. Within the hour my pain was back. My parents came to see baby girl for the first time last night and mom kept asking if I was OK since I was in obvious pain. I didn't lie, I flat out replied no I'm not. At this point, I wasn't sure if I should call my doc and head back to the hospital or not.

My parents (after I bribed my step dad into buying baby girl's hospital portraits for us - which I feel guilty about but more on that in a minute) decided to head home so I could get some rest. E had just got the boys to bed, and DD was playing quietly in her room, and since it was only like 8:30 pm I didn't want to go to bed. So I told E I'd try laying on the couch for awhile.

I fell asleep with baby girl on the couch and slept until E woke me up at 11 pm. He had brought me a glass of water and my pain pill and said he'd carry Baby girl to bed for me and come back to help me up. But I had little pain, so I got up and went to the bathroom, took my meds with the water, and went to bed. Only had to get up 2 times last night, and both times had almost no pain.

This morning, when I got up for the day, I had absolutely no pain at all! It didn't hurt to get out of bed or walk! I took my morning dose of ibuprofen that my dr has prescribed and proceeded to the chair to change baby girl and nurse her. Within 2 hours of sitting there, the pain was back!

It seems if I sit up too long it causes the pain! I moved to the couch and laid down, and within the hour the pain was gone again. WOW. So, apparantly I have been sitting up too much and not giving my body enough down time to rest. So glad that's all it is, though!

Anyway, back to my parent's visiting - my step dad made a joking remark about how they didn't think I was going to make it to the 19th because I was so huge! Surprised that he said that, I looked at him and asked, "Is that your way of saying I'm fat??!!" He was laughing and said no no I'm just saying you were bigger this pregnancy than with the others. I replied that wasn't true, as I was a lot bigger with baby boy - and have pics to prove it. I then followed that up, while laughing, with, "Since you think I was so huge, and you said so, you're going to buy her hospital portraits to make up for it, right?" I was mostly teasing, and fully expected him to say no not doing that - but he said "Sure! We can do that!" and he told me which package he wanted to buy! :th

I told him I was totally teasing, that we didn't need to buy the portraits, but he said, "No no, it's OK, if I can spend $80 on a new starter, I can spend $40 on my grand daughter's portraits!" and then he added, "as long as I get a wallet sized to carry with me!" LOL I told him you'd get bigger than a wallet, and he thought I meant he wouldn't get a wallet, too, so I had to tell him he'd get both. Then he handed us the $ to order the pics!

So I'm feeling a little guilty about it, but mom said he wanted to do it anyway. I think it's super nice of them, and they will definitely get a BIG picture!

So, this gal has had lots of pics taken of her, and I'm sure a million more will be done. I want to get portraits done of all the kids, but might go do those at Walmart, as they have a special package for $8 and you get over 30 prints, so I figure that's a good and cheap deal??? For a pic of all 6 of my kids together!

Yes girl, listen to that body and rest up so that you can heal and get back to normal.

I was really tired with baby # 3 and I told the doctor about it. Do you know what he told me? It was because of my AGE. I was getting old for having babies ... and I was 25 at the time!!!

Honestly though every year older we are the more rest and recovery time we need to get back to normal. I know you are champing at the bit, but sleep sleep sleep. :hugs :)
