I was really tired with baby # 3 and I told the doctor about it. Do you know what he told me? It was because of my AGE. I was getting old for having babies ... and I was 25 at the time!!!
Did you kick him? :D

That's just ridiculous, I had my first at 24, and my second at 25--nobody ever told me I was too old to have babies!

Definitely listen to your body and get as much rest as possible. Your body has been through trauma (childbirth AND surgery), it's adjusting to caring for the baby on the outside instead of on the inside (making milk etc.), and no matter what you need more rest than you think you do in order to just survive and HEAL up.

So glad people are bringing you meals and that your hubby is so supportive! Now you just be supportive of your own needs and rest BEFORE you hurt :old

Aly, this is your second c section right? After my 3rd I had a really sharp pain. I also had my tubes tied. My doc said that with each c section more scar issue builds. So when they sew you up theres more to deal with. Then there is always the contracting uterus when you breast feed thing. :idunno

Its good to hear your feeling a bit better. Take it easy.

yes, second c-section. I really have been doing a lot more laying down, napping, and having a lot less pain. Even the incision site doesn't seem to be giving me as much pain since I'm making sure I lay down periodically during the day.

My Aunt Gail was here today, and she fixed us corn chowder with garlic bread and salad for dinner. It was yummo!

I think earthymama24 is coming over on Monday. :) Tomorrow my kids are going to church in the morning with friend R from down the road. :) They are super excited about that!

I'm going to go lay down and take a nap now, since the kids are all fed and E's in here just chill-axing. and baby girl is out like a light. Perfect nap time.

Glad to hear you are getting some healing rest, ya old woman!

Those meals are surely a blessing for you all. Although I found youngest son does like to help in the kitchen, it should probably wait until you are a little stronger. I made a H--U--G--E pot of veggie and rice soup yesterday. If you were closer I could give you 1/2 pot and not notice any was missing.

I was almost 30 when our "baby" was born, FF.... I think I woulda smacked any doctor who said I was old at 25!

Well back when I WAS 25 I swallowed the pill he gave me. Now days, 23 years later, that doctor would have probably had a piece of my mind for sure. Still. The older you are the more R&R it takes for things to heal, especially like Tank mentioned with extra scar tissue etc...

It sounds like things are going smoothly for you Quail. She sounds like a good baby. Taking plenty of naps to allow you that rest time.

The corn chowder sounds delicious! :drool

Last Thursday, first full day home with Baby Girl, my three year old son saw mom nursing a baby for the first time. The conversation went as follows:

3 yr old: why is the baby sucking on your boob, mommy?
me: after staring at him in wide eyed shock and after asking E how'd he know to call it a boob??? That's how our baby eats.
3 yr old: Oh. She's eating your boob?
me: no, she's drinking milk.
3 yr old, in an awed tone: oh she's drinking milk?!

later on that day, when the kids came home from school, 3 yr old son sits on the couch next to his daddy and big sis, who was getting a turn holding her new sister, and says to her: The baby drinks milk from Mommy's boob!

:th

He's also told Grandma and Grandpa.

He also now obsessed with babies, and has "adopted" 2 handkerchiefs as his "babies". I'm thinking we may get him a baby for xmas - don't laugh, I think boys playing with a baby doll is good practice for being a dad.
