Cold is on the Right, Hot is on The Left
Peddler, Our guineas free ranged. I haven't housed guineas over the winter yet, so I would go with FarmFreshs advice.
My coops for my chickens aren't fancy. The first one was built from lumber we recycled from a barn FIL tore down. It's 9' wide x 12' long x 8' high. The other coop is 8x8x8 for now, but will be 8x20x8 when we get that add on done.
The 9x12x8 coop also has a small brooder built inside so I can move chicks out from the indoor brooders. Like I said, not fancy, but it works.
We expand a little bit each year and try to upgrade the coops a bit at a time. Last fall we put a new roof on the 9x12x8 coop when we built the brooder in it.
