City Biddy
I remember the little gas station and store in my dad's little (read tiny) hometown.
There was a potbelly stove in the winter. In summer an ice cream freezer, a Coke cooler and a very obese but wonderful lady behind the counter who hand sliced bologna (way too thick) from a long roll and cheese to match, to make matchless Poor Boy sandwiches! They sold gas and groceries, but the locals all hung around drinking pop or coffee, playing checkers or cards and visiting. What an asset to the community.
