Of course the post for the 5 gal bucket is gone. But now that I know it's a good price I will keep my eyes open for it.

Thanks, gina

Lol. Isn't that how it usually works? Even if they had sold out, would have been nice of them to keep the post up for future sales anyways.

I got a five gallon bucket of honey this year (raw, filtered, wildflower) and the honey was 60 lbs. It was $91, so about $1.50 per pound. A VERY small fraction of what I could find raw honey for at a store....on sale or clearance for $6-7 a pound.

I transfered a lot of it to quart canning jars, and made mead with a lot of it. My folks took a whole gallon, they like it in tea. I have enough to make another batch of mead (5 gallons) and enough in the jars to experiment with baking and soda and such for...er....several years, since we don't eat much for sweets. Although now that I have it, I will likely use it in projects next spring and summer until I can get some more, like liqueurs and...hmm....who knows? I'm not used to sweets anymore, but I made an amazing batch of choc chip/oatmeal/whole wheat/lard cookies with a small amount of honey recently. About 1/3 the amount called for is enough for me for oatmeal cookies, less if I put a few choc chips in.
