ha! SD i was gonna say this to SS but you got to it first!

Same here, I commonly remark "back when I had money".....oh well, for now this is working. OFG gave me a new motto, Onward and Upward.....
i still ahve a couple "dang if i only had the big money again...." moments.. but whatever. i kinda laugh at how my richy-rich friends live now. i cant believe that used to be me!

SD i'm so glad you've got some hearing!

sending hugs and kisses and HELLOOOOOOOS!

Amen to that, OFG! just picked a mess of green beans and dug some new red pontiac potatos. Had fresh grilled quash and onions for lunch, and about $5 worth of free blackberries for breakfast. Take that to the bank! Time to go read more journals. Chat with you later, SD!:)

SD, which is your good ear? Mine is my right. I hate it when people come up and talk to me in my left ear. They either don't get it, or just don't care that that causes me pain!

And, I'm glad you have some of your hearing back. Right now, losing my hearing, or having my MD progress rapidly are my biggest fears. And that's one reason I fight this disease so hard. I just wish there was something I could do for you. :hugs

I can still hear! In fact, it is better. Things are so LOUD. Gosh I didn't realize the toilet flushing sounds like Niagara falls. And today I heard my ducks. I can hear the TV right now and it isn't even on the highest level. And today I could hear the birds singing and how noisy the work going on across the road is.

I tried to listen to music on my computer and crashed it! hee hee It wasn't up to the strain. I need a new computer baaad....that is one of those times when I wish I had more cash, when it is time for a big ticket item like a new computer.

My problem with this hearing improvements is what happens to my spirits when it goes away again. I think this is why I have such trouble adjusting to the loss, it keeps coming back like a reminder of my former life. But Hubby always thinks that my hearing is really not going to go away forever and I hope he is right. It still isn't good hearing but I can follow the world much better like this. I'm just trying to remember this is temporary because "thinking positive" about it staying has never been successful and sets me up for a big fall each time. I'd say I wish it wouldn't do this, but no....I appreciate every day that I can hear.

Thanks FF. By the way Deb my good ear is my right, left is pretty useless. And my loss is in the low and middle ranges, with hypersensitivity to high pitched sounds, so everything sounds like it is coming over a crappy radio station, real tinny.

OK, I posted backwards, my good ear is my left. It's the right I have problems with.

I hear ya on those low frequencies! There are guys that I cannot talk to because I cannot understand a word they're saying. It just sounds like a low rumble. And high pitched noises make me jump, and cover my ears. I don't do fireworks anymore-unless they're way in the distance. And, I'm getting to where I don't like parades either. I hate crowds and am hoping no one gives us tickets to the Phils this year. One part of me wants to go, they're having such a good year (won in 19 the other day, winning pitcher was their 2nd baseman!), but yet at the same time, I don't know if I could stand the noise of the crowds. Certain birds, especially killdeer, really bother me. And, forget crying children! I'm glad I wasn't this bad when my kids were little. In a way, I dread the idea of grandchildren, because if they're crying, I won't be able to hold them, and I don't want them to feel rejected.

And today I heard my ducks.
i was gonna ask what you thought of the sound of the milk hitting the bucket???? i dont think you were milking the last time you had 'sound' so i was hoping it was like music for you.

i was walking around yesterday listening to different things - wind blowing, the chickens, etc and wondering what its like for you to hear them 'new' all over again.

:)

and you're famous on my blog today
:)
