How can you have a new kitty there? I thought they all found their way to my house! My girls names are Emma, Libby, Freeway and Gracie...oh, and Momma Cat.
Our son's girlfriend had a black kitty that she named Blair. My SIL has Sissy and Sassy.

I need a cat like I need a whole the head, we have one and she is the dominant cat. But she is getting older and is losing her edge she may tolerate a young cat as long as it keeps her in line. Do you know how to break that dominance? She has chased dogs, whipped male cats. This year she seems to be loosing that edge she used to have. She has been whipped twice by smaller cats. I would probably have named that black one Salem.

I am such a sucker for cats though I'd have them everywhere.........I love em. I like how they are independent and think for themselves and I think are more SS as well. I like my dog but I like dogs in general.

I doubt that you'd have any luck trying to change her. It's like chickens, they have to get the pecking order down.
We still have two male kittens from the last litter of barn cats. I need them like I need to have my navel pierced. Agh.

I'm actually a big animal lover and cats are high on the list. I would be a crazy cat lady except that I'm the crazy dog lady.

BB, as far as which animal is dominant, I don't think with any animal that it is for us to decide dominance. They do it on their own. Letting animals "work it out" is usually my approach, and if that doesn't work, I keep them in separate quarters. Our cats here have all gotten used to cat fosters so there won't be a problem with that, the poor kitten will be "low man".

I guess that is better than Flatsie, which would have been her name if she stayed in that warehouse much longer.

Theyd eventually tolerate each other hopefully............but I doubt I will be able to get it back.

There is a big sign over our house that only animals can see, it reads "SUCKER". It even follows our car around when we leave home.

Actually we always say the doggie and kitty angels gave them directions.

Not necessarily. Can you give the older cat a little space to itself?

I feel like that to. They come here for refuge seems like. We had momma cat come with kittens last year. Gran kept one but he left. She misses him :( there is one like him in the litter and she wanted to keep it. I hope they come back! :fl

Then when the dog was chained instead of kenneled a hunting dog took up with him for a few days. ALL of our pets have either been strays and just shown up (the best pets) or we have resuced them. The last two cats (including this one) were on deaths door and we resuced them. We adopted the dog as well. I think thats the way to go. The strays are always more homely, never seem to be high strung and always so quirky and smart. Talking about them makes me sad.

I had a cat that I LOVED to death he was a yellow tabby cat. His name was Punk. He was my buddy. He was so quirky. I still remember him. He has been dead for almost 7 years. :hit We had him for 5 years since he was tiny stray kitten. What I wouldnt do to have that cat back............. :hit

Sorry for hijacking!

Yeah she is an indoor/outdoor cat. If I did get a balck one Id keep her outside or in the garage until she could come in.......
