That's great that they signal you so well to danger.

Amira has been socialized since she was a baby. To other animals and other humans. So while she is siamese, and very one person only, she tolerates others quite well.

Doesn't it though? Half siamese :)

She is a siamese done in miniature. The tabby has her tiny and the siamese coloring isn't there. Pure white with black and tan splotches :)

Aw, she is half, like my Mr. Stubby. I need to dig up some pictures of my animals for on here. Mr. Stubby is an orange tabby with a crooked tail. I was told that happens a lot with Siamese crosses. His tail looks to be about six inches long. He has the Siamese shaped head but the rest of him looks like a domestic shorthair.

Well time for a farm update!

Ducks: I have a thread on here about them, I'm down to just one pair and the female is sitting on just three eggs I suspect are duds. I'm going to look at these last ones as pets and we have filled in the pond. Today we will cover it over totally with dirt.

Rabbits: On BYH, I have a thread going as well. It looks like my older bunny probably has uterine cancer. She seems okay, but that is where here symptoms point. I guess I will just let her live out her time. One of my bucks has an eye issue and on a third thread (also at BYH) I'm learning rabbits can be allergic to hay and since he sits by the hay feeder with his cage location, I think that is his problem. I'm going to switch him cages with the one I suspect has cancer since hay does not bother her. The four baby bunnies and the other two adults are doing great.

Chickens: I realize I have five cockerels of the 24 chickens and only wanted two, but if I incorporate the two remaining ducks into the main coop, I could keep two or three separate chicken flocks, so I've been thinking about how I might divide them up. I think I will specialize in chickens, not ducks, since they are doing so much better here. Of the five cockerels, one for sure needs to go to the stew pot, but I think I might use the purebred BO cockerel since I still have two purebred BO hens, I could put those three together up front in the little coop. Then it would be a matter of deciding how to divide up the others depending on the personalities. The ugly duckling EE cockerel thinks the BO hen is "his" and that ain't how it is gonna be.......

Goats: I've reconfirmed my breeding plans work out with the owner of the stud. I'm going to use the same one that I sold. Sounds silly, but I didn't want to house him but I sure liked his offspring and they live close by, and I would think he would be the least likely to introduce new diseases to my girls, having come from here and only been exposed to one other farm. He produced some nice offspring for the new owner, too. She is only charging me 35 per doe which is really a good deal for me since I sold the wethers we got from him last year for 75 apiece. And I would be delighted to have a whole herd of little goats like my Emilee. There was one other he threw that resembles her and all the offspring have his nice mellow sweet personality so I'm sold. I was thinking of breeding Emilee back to him but Hubby was absolutely revolted by that idea.

Cats: Our kitten is getting fat and Sassy. Computer Nerd named her Snax. I also contacted the person who adopted Smoke from my story on here, the one who broke his foot, and I wanted to use that story on my blog I'm creating. He is doing great and she sent me some pictures!

Dogs: We still do not have a foster. :hit However, in working on my blog, I've been contacting former adopters whose stories I told, and I now have photos of several that I did not have before, and one even had a photo I had taken that I really wanted and thought was lost forever. I was worried some of them might not be doing okay because it has been a few years, but they are all good. I still am waiting to hear back from Tank and Freddy's person, but I heard back from all the others. I don't have the e-mail addresses of where all the ridgebacks went, but I really needed to use Jake's picture so I looked that family up and wrote to them, he has grown up now and they absolutely love him. It was really nice today hearing how they all are.

Garden: The slugs are winning. I bought beer. Not to drink....:somad I don't really drink anymore. Trouble looked at us a little quizzically when we picked out the cheap beer. He knitted his brows together when I said "Slugs?" and Hubby said "Yep!".

Other: SSI check is supposed to arrive today and so far hasn't hit the bank......steam was starting to come out of my ears when Hubby told me he will "handle this" that I'm "not to get upset." So I don't know what is going on with that....yet. It is not like we are going shopping or anything, we have bills to pay with this one but at least I have reached the symbolic "end point" of my wait for my SSI. I hope I can get my blog created to give myself a new little mission in life. So far it has been fun just contacting the former adopters, but I think I need several "adopted" stories on there to flesh it all out, so I'm in the process of collecting them and rewriting them for a different audience. I need to gear the story a little more toward foster folk. The person who adopted Thunder reminded me that I removed him and his litter from the website before Christmas because people were wanting them as stocking-stuffers and I was MAD. She had fallen in love with his picture and was worried he disappeared from the website because of an adoption, when in reality it was because I had already decided she was the perfect home, why fight off the stocking-stuffer shoppers?

Overall, I'm thankful for my forum friends here, for giving me the ideas that cooked this project up and for assisting me in figuring out what is up with my animals and how to go forward.

Happy Friday!
I spent the last couple hours copying my foster stories off of this thread, I've only told about 23 of their stories and I thought there were more. Adapting them will be my next step. I was amazed when I looked through my whole journal, how many times everyone here gave me hugs! What a virtual huggy group you guys are. I feel loved. :love

STILL waiting on my SSI check.....they sent it to the wrong bank. :he Ain't our government grand? :duc
