Funny thing about that video, I think it very likely my babies might look like that little black agouti in the beginning. It looks like a cross between my Molly and Sebastian, the study I used.

Were those pygmys or nygys? What breed of goat was that in the video? I'm such a goat newbie I only saw "cute" and couldn't tell which breed.

Doesn't it make you want to add more playground to your goat yard?

Freakin' adorable! Skip popping IS the perfect description, thanks to OFG for coining it. DH said "we're going to have to expand the goat yard" and we will be building them a playground. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :weee
I googled that video - they are cashmere goats.

We had a very nice gathering yesterday with the local assorted family. Everyone liked my tamales and soup and I stocked my mom's fridge extras, frozen in her little tupperware dishes for individual meals. They have been eating a lot of packaged preprepared foods so now they will have some healthier ones. I don't know how healthy tamales are, but they were yummy and I left her quite a few of those in the freezer too. Everyone got eggs from us as a gift. No biggy but they are really nice eggs.

My grandbaby is just the cutest.......hers were the green eggs for Green Eggs and Ham, and her mom will probably eat them but she is breast feeding her still so she will get those green eggs somehow.

Today I'm getting caught up on stuff and putting things away, fueled by all the sugary things we were given yesterday to eat. It is cold and gusty this morning, at least for here, with a very sharp wind blowing. I'm glad I got my animal chores out of the way because now a very cold rain is falling. My animals all retreat into their houses and just peek at us out of the doors. We set up all the pens so they are visible out of our bedroom window pretty much. I really like it this way, I can somewhat check on everyone by just looking out. Very helpful when one cannot hear.

I think a neighbor dog is what made those chickens disapear a few weeks ago. I have seen one slink away twice when I appeared at the door, and both times he was trying to get into the chicken coop via the poop-pan slot. Good thing it is way too small. But I think I see where my chickens went to. Some of the same chickens that disapeared liked to hang out in that area when I was letting them free range out there so it makes me really suspect that dog. Who knows though, when you see no remains it is hard to say what predator got your chicken.

It can be hard to say what got the chickens, but it sure sounds like the dog... Tamales sound wonderful. Today with that cold wind sounds like a good day to snuggle up and relax, well, relax as much as you can on a sugar high!

Well the boots have stayed in the closet pretty much, but we made soap today. We used goat milk for the first time....hurrah! Of course it came from the grocery store in a can, but I just couldn't wait to try adding it to my soap. I actually paid five bucks for a 12 oz can.

Hubby helped me and it came out very light, very nice, like butterscotch. We are calling this one Thai Ice Tea because it has Thai ice tea, honey and the goat milk as the added ingredients. We also added oatmeal to make it more of a complexion bar. We experimented with a few different molds and putting different scrubby bath loofahs and such in molds with the soap poured over the top.

I hope they come out of the mold this time!

Making soap is fun and today I realized my Hubby likes to make it too. It is nice as a two-person job and it always amazes me when he takes up MY hobbies as his. He is just so tickled that I caught his Self Sufficient bug.....
