I have a photo program myself but they have a free one you can use. Cnet has some free ones that you can down load. Cnet is a safe website to get programs from...
All my cars get names, usually based on a trait of theirs.
My first car was a great little Corvair Monza convertible and we were both in our early 20's. People used to yell "hey baby" at us when I run around with her top down, so she was named Baby.
My next car was a coppery color Phoenix hatchback and I named her Cinnamon. Then my Mom teased me and said " why don't you just call her Cin" ? So I did. She became the Sin-mobile. It was mostly a joke cause I was behaving pretty well at the time.
My hubby had a white Dodge Dart with spots of a few colors of primer on it. He never got around to repainting the whole car and it looked awful. The blue, rust color and black spots all over it made me name it the Bruise-mobile. I promised to change the name when he painted it, but he ended up selling it. It was a great car.
I worked in the jewelry business for a while, and my next car was the right shade of green, so she was Emerald.
I do talk to my cars, but it's usually sweet talking them to try to motivate them to keep running for me. I never had the money for mechanics, so I needed them to run on loyalty.
Check out that website......Sunset magazine gives BYC a nod and talks about having chickens being part of the cultural "trend".....
But it seems to me a lot of the stuff we are doing is part of the trend. I bought my goats planning on making my own cheese eventually and my friends looked at me like.....you are going to eat WHAT?
But now every week on TV I see a show on with someone teaching everyone how to make cheese. I even saw a TV morning news show demonstrating soap making, my other thing I'm into.
Also growing gardens instead of lawns.......maybe it is because I live near Portland but sometimes I think Hubby and I were just ahead of the trend. I feel like saying heh, this stuff was MY idea before it was trendy. Hubby literally has wanted goats as long as I've known him.
Do you guys feel sometimes that the world is hitchin a ride on your wagon?
Last night while I was hanging some clothes on the line in front of my wood stove, I got to thinking about our electric bill and how high it was. Then I started thinking about how high prices are getting on food. And then I started thinking about HOAs and zoning laws. And, I came to the conclusion that people are probably going to start fighting them soon so that they CAN hang their clothes up to dry, can have a garden, chickens, etc. So, either people are copying us, or we are trend setters.
I personally think I got a nod from God to go this way. It was never on my radar, other than I really loved fresh tomatoes in the summer. My folks always had a garden so it seemed easy enough. The chickens - well, they were kind of a creative, yet legal way to tell snotty neighbors they could kiss our butts. Then it was 'why stop at chickens?, we have 1.5 acres, most of it bare'...and now I have a herd of goatlings Over the course of a few years, my whole idea of what I want out of life changed.
