Score! MORE canning jars, and another canner!

Wow, great score!! I have used my canner on my flat top stove...however...I WILL be getting an electric burner type stove for the summer kitchen this year.

My IL's have a glass top stove also. They can ALOT as they have a fabulous garden so they use a 3 burner propane camp stove set up in the garage. It works really well for them, is easy enough to move around if they need to and ity frees up space in the kitchen for other things when they're "putting up the harvest".
I have Amish friends that can ALOT and they all use propane fueled stoves. Most of the ones I have seen have three burners and hold large oblong cold packers that take up the whole top. Most of the homes have a separate area from the kitchen where they have the canning stove.

That's very cool! What is a cold packer?
