Good day off! Gave Buddy a haircut so he looks like a schnauzer instead of a little lamb. Made choc. chip cookies, did laundrey and planted string beans and lettuce. The potatoes are growing well and we should be getting rain Wed. and Thurs. I got a kindle a couple of weeks ago (basic) and love it! Mostly free books I download. Newest free book today called Survivalist Cookbook. Lots of recipes for beans and breads. Some I have never heard of. For about $60 and the books are free, it seems like a good way to go. However, I did buy the Martianchicks first novel called Bystander. Very good!!! Holds up to 1100 books I think. I already have plenty of print cookbooks so not worried about losing it all. Back to work tomorrow so you all have a good evening.

DD just got herself a Kindle. So far she's still trying to figure it out lol. If they're that handy I may have to break down and get myself one as well :p

Did some stretches out of a kindle book this morning and I can sure move easier now! Did laundrey and have bread in the oven. Gonna make cheese straws, gingerbread and hot chocolate mix later. Think I will wait til tomorrow to plant carrots and radishes. Nice low key day!

GREEN with envy!!! Sounds like fun to me snappy! Save me some cheese straws? :D I don't know for sure what they are, but they have cheese in the name, which means they must be good :drool

They have cheese, chives, butter, hot sauce, flour and rice crispies in them. Mmmm!

Deb--all I have is blueberry pie filling. Don't think it would work. I used to like it with cream cheese. Today, just plain.

Got everything done I planned to. Amazing. Tomorrow--Make a breakfast casserole for the week, chicken and veggie soup and maybe tomato aspic. Found a recipe in an old cookbook. I'll run the veggies through the food processor in the morning when I am making the soup veggies. Hopefully later in the garden!

WBF- the free books for kindle are amazing! I have a soapmaking book, gardening, old cookbooks and survival types of cookbooks. All free!

I'll try to post it tomorrow. Since the computer crashed and got the new motherboard, I haven't gotten my printer software put on yet.

Breakfast casserole made. Tomato aspic made kind of. The recipe said to simmer the veggies in tomato juice and spices and then discard them. I couldn't do it. Left them in so it will have more crunch and nutrition. Chicken soup is simmering. Still need to bake the cheese crisps.

Think I might wait to plant carrots and radishes til Tuesday. I need to take it a little easier today.

We had 3 inches of rain a couple of days ago so no planting yet. Staying fairly busy though. I finally ordered the new laptop and a wireless printer. Both together cost less than half of what the old laptop did. I just don't have much going on at this time. Made molasses cookies today, did laundrey, dusted--see what I mean? It is nice to just sit and read a bit though! Hope you all are staying as busy as you want to!
