Snapshot " . . . Still haven't figured out how and where to dry homemade noodles with so little room so that is on hold for now. . .

Here's an idea. http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1274226
Lots of people used to have these to hang their kitchen towels on and they were so handy. It would work for linguini or something similar.
You might set other shapes on food dehydrator trays to dry.
I've also seen drying racks that were hinged to a wall and dropped down when needed. They could hold a big batch. They were designed for drying fruit, and I think the plans were in the old Mother Earth news.

Thanks for the ideas!!!!! The two homemade racks are nicer but still take up more room than we have right now. The one from Ace hardware is perfect so I think I'll watch at thrift stores and yard sales! I appreciate the thoughts and searching you two did!

I had a cooking day yesterday. First made a cornmeal pudding from the military cookbook. The directions did not have a time but said "until a toothpick comes out clean". By that time it was cornmeal bread. Oh well, still tastes good with a little milk on it. Next, I made some cinnamon ornaments for the dehydrator and then ran out of cinnamon. So I made some salt dough ornaments to dehydrate also. After this, I started on dinner--made a meatloaf and real mashed potatoes. Right after I put the meatloaf in the oven, DH called and said we were going out to dinner with FIL. I never even mentioned the meatloaf! LOL This was the second time in six months we have gone out to dinner (or any other meal). Had a great time and we are going to the ranch to visit again this morning. I'm taking a few ornaments for my sister in law and some pear/apple jelly.

On another note. After being gluten free for a month or so, I really can't eat bread any more. I made a loaf with the new-to-me bread machine and ate one slice yesterday. My knee hurt (arthritis that had gone away) bad last evening and I had a hive reaction too. Darn!!!!! I seem to be able to use a cornmeal mix but not straight flour at all!

We're getting ready to go pick up a trailer of seed to take out to the ranch for BIL so I better get going. Have a good day!!!!!!

Some excitement here last night!

We had a small tornado come through the RV park last night about 10:30! Thank God it was small!!!! Tore up everyone in the parks awnings and the front window cover on several of us. Knocked out the screen on the front window at kitchen and knocked fruit bowl, etc. on floor. Brought in plenty of leaves and pine needles too! Trash cans and tree branches everywhere! The park HAD a playset with slide, etc. No more! And my poor persimmons were on the picnic table! We are just thankful that we and the pups are fine, the trailer is still liveable, and the truck was not damaged!!!!! DH took the front window awning with him this morning to straighten out. The big awning is canvas and will have to be removed and pitched.

We are assuming it is a SMALL tornado as the RV is still in the same place!!!!

Not just the RV park hit either. Up in front of us the signs and front steel awnings are gone off the car wash and hardware store!!!! Definitely not just a straightline wind!

This kind of makes us consider how strong we will try to make pens and coops when we are settled!

Have a great day everyone!!!

So glad you are okay! Had the storms here but nothing like you did!

Had lots of lightning and thunder and the rain was downpours...2+ inches in 24 hours.

So glad y'all are safe! :hugs

Holy mama! Glad you're okay!

Was it a little microburst? They can cause a tremedous amount of damage in a small area.
I don't know about a microburst. It seemed circular as it started at the back of the trailer and blew the screen in and stuff onto the floor at the front of the trailer. Also the hardware store is a little ways from us and had much damage.

Thanks for the kind words folks!
