WooHoo! I actually ordered my food processor that I have waited 6 months to get!!!!! I just believe that soon our house will come through! Made a Cheese and chile grits casserole for the next few breakfasts today and a Beef enchilada casserole for dinners. I picked the rest of the persimmons to ripen and will make pulp to freeze out of the first bunch tomorrow. It's kind of hard to keep busy enough to not get depressed. Another problem I won't have once we are moved! I do know that we are so blessed to have a paid off trailer and truck, our pups and our health! So no more whining!!!!!

No persimmon butter for me! DH wants to use the pulp in smoothies!!!!!! They do taste good--well maybe the ones I have ripening now!

We went to an auction Saturday but did not buy anything again. No room still! There is a possibility of a different house for us in the near future. Not quite as big but we just move in, more or less. I have not seen this one yet, but have hopes!!!! My brother in law wants this one because it has 50 acres attatched that he wants for his ranch with the bonus of a house to rent to us! Not too excited yet because we know things change!

Anyway, we went out and took care of the cows yesterday. I just love watching the calves frolic and kick up the heels!!!!! I was feeding the big mamas treats left and right, trying not to get trampled!!!

Today was a cleaning day almost all morning and this afternoon went to stores looking for a deal on a turkey. 79 cents a pound was the best around me. I will cook it tomorrow because of the space issues here. I have it thawing in ice water and may cut it up tonight to get it in fridge. Can hardly wait for a full size fridge!!!!! And oven!!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Wow!! I am new to this forum and just read your journal start to finish. I am impressed with your ingenuity to do what you have done in an RV.

While working on the road I spent a year and a half living in our RV and fully understand the challenge. It's a full time job just doing the the basics of RV living, much less canning and doing what you do.

Best of luck in your dreams and future endeavors. Will be following.

Sheesh, I punked out and went home for Thanksgiving. (like I was going to get away with that!!!)

Thanks Dave! I'm about tired of the challenge! Nine years is enough!

I got my turkey in the oven (had to cut it apart to make it fit) at 6:30 this morning. No room in the fridge to store it and we had to get it yesterday. Will be making the rest of dinner over the next few days and celebrate Thursday evening.

We are supposed to have strong storms again today and after the tornado the other night, I am a bit nervous. I come from FL and know I can't be nervous every time it storms but no warning and being in the RV can be a recipe for disaster! DH is coming home early so we are all together. Not much to do today so I'll be back later. Have fun!

we are travel trailer campers and TanksHill has a big old 5th wheel also. Camping is ME big time....and this is one place I have checked into big time. Your younger traveling sounds like what my retirement camping will be

so tell me aout Q. is it as wild as it seems? lol

edited to say---don't worry cause we did like 70 mph winds in Virginia at Cheaspeake bay in our 30 ft camper. oh yea it rocked!!!! I got worried but that sucker held ok.

In January it is wild in Q! The third week is the Pow Wow--Worlds largest rock and mineral show. Then they set up a tent that is a quarter mile long with everything you could want (RV) and then they use part of the big tent for a huge Craft show! January and Feb. are our two busiest months at the restaurant. I worked at Silly Als Pizza--one of the few actual structures in the town. Most are in tents. The whole time this is going on there are flea markets set up all over town selling everything one can imagine. There is also the book store in a tent owned by a nudist! All he wears is a cup with a string and sometimes sandals (unless it is cold). And he is NOT young!:th There are plenty of rv parks in town but most people park their rvs or trailers in the desert and camp for little or free! Gotta be better and cheaper than heating your house all winter! There is a family dollar and a Bealles outlet, one bank and two stoplights. You never know what you will see on the road from motorized wheelchairs to tricycles!!! I have never counted but have been told that in January, there can be 500,000 to 1 million people there for the shows. In the summer there are about 2,000 total--some of them gone! Definitely a cool place to visit!!!!!!!

Today I made the cornbread dressing and Pumpkin applesauce, then found out that dh and I are feeding the cows in the morning so I made the green bean casserole and Sweet potato pudding. We did the laundrey--laundrymat and I trimmed and brushed the pups. DH asked our neighbors over for dinner tomorrow so I'll move some stuff out of the trailer to fit them in for the day. Tomorrow I bake the pudding and make mashed potatoes and Crispy apple, raisin walnut salad. That will do it. And gravy. The already Baked turkey is thawing in its juices.

Hope you all hve a nice Holiday!!!!!!

We had a great time getting to know our neighbors at dinner!!!!!! And it was so much easier cooking over 3 days!!!!!! Anyway, all is put away now and I am about to head to bed. We had fun this morning with the cows and I am helping dh again tomorrow so will be up at 5am. I took lots of photos this morning and will post a few later. Even one of Smiley who is in with the yearlings now! No shopping for me this year unless I find a vacuum sealer for a great price on cyber Monday.

Any of you out shopping tomorrow, please drive safely!!! and be careful with your purses or wallets. Some folks think this is the season to fleece others!
