a handmade necklace from my daughter, along with a handsewn clothespin bag
a mineral lick for the deer!

and Blackbird, the butter keeper will be fine with homemade or unpasturized butter. You should be good to go for around a month with the butter keeper - it is how people kept butter before gas or electric refrigeration.

key is to remember to rinse out the crock and put in fresh water every couple of days.

I love my butter keeper, and have given lots for gifts.

Oh good. Do you know how well it handles unpasteurized unsalted butter? Our friends have one, they said it works great as well.. they have dairy cows so I assume they use home-made butter but not sure.. I might have to ask.
It does great. You just need to remember to change the water in it at least every third day and more often if it is hot weather.

I got new shirts and pajamas, muck boots, a $50 gift card to TSC, $50 gift card to Barnes &Noble, and money!

Hubby got socks, underwear, t-shirts, jeans and money!

The kids got way too much. The ones I am excited about are hula hoops, jump ropes, the crayola glow stick drawing thingy, books, money, and TWISTER!!!

We ended up with some nice stuff....we have already given away tons of candy that was given to the kids. UGH.

Now I am trying to figure out what I am going to get from TSC to prepare for the goats. :)

:( Oh no! We had a dryer for a while that wouldn't heat - it blew cold air just fine! :barnie

I was thinking about it the other day and wondering how it would work to turn that stupid thing into a chicken plucker!

Well those drum type pluckers look the same as the inside of a dryer - cept a dryer has those "fin" like things, so I don't know for sure. We still have our old piece of junk in the basement - and one even older washer in the garage :th The washer in the garage has those roller thingies on top! :ep
