Spelling and grammar

So glad I'm not the only grammar snob out there! My job is medical transcription, so 4 hours every day I am editing grammar and double-checking spelling.

Gotta tell ya (oops), some posts make my brain screech to a stop and say, "Huh?!?"

My pet peeve is redundancy.

No kidding My dad is the worst offender. When we were kids, we got him a b-day t-shirt labeled "The Head Manager of the Department of Redundancy Department."

Let me just go ahead and apologize.

I can't splel.

And I like to start my sentences with the word "and".
I also often end my sentences with a preposition. As in "What'd you do that for?"

I'm a frequent user of phonetically spelled words. Ie - gonna, gettin, and whoopin.

Please don't shoot me.

Agreed, they are Turkey Vultures, but tell that to these folks:

They have been heavily advertised for about 30 years.
Around here it is just easier to give up and say "Buzzard" or they won't know what you mean.

I'm certain mine was one of the posts that you didn't like.

It isn't a matter of liking or not liking. I just felt like posting in this thread. I work with people that have backgrounds in biology and they call them buzzards all the time. No big deal.

I can be a grammar snob but this thread is meant to be fun. I really hope we don't get too picky or hurt feelings. I have already done that unintentionally so I backed off for awhile and don't use that persons typos or mistakes anymore.

Not at all. I enjoy a good ribbing, as long as you can take what you dish we're good. ...and I have a feeling you can take what you dish.
