Today I went to the dollar tree store, they have kids plain t-shirts, not name brand, but nice and HEAVY DUTY! I bought 3 for my son, brown, grey and red. They had more, but those were the only colors in his size.

They also had hunts ketchup with no high fructose corn syrup.

can't beat it! Love the dollar tree!

Super H has 20 lb of brown California rice for $9.99, limit two, got two bags. Have to use their saving card (free).

Also hit costco for 25 lbs each bag basic flour, sugar. Feed store (West Walton) 50 lbs deer corn (clean whole grain field corn) $13. Seems that I left SS blog open on DH's work laptop and he's hooked! All under the rationale of beating inflation and saving a buck or two, so I've been stocking up.

Discussed with the local feed store storage fees if I bought a whole pallet of layer pellets NOW and had him store it in their cooled, vault-like store room. They'll think about it.

Telling folks I'm "investing heavily into commodities"

and if the neighbors ask about the downed oak we've not gotten around to cleaning up yet ... "energy futures"

I TRIED to fill the freezer with fish. Oldest son is home on leave and wanted to go fishing. We went to 11 mile reservoir. The weather was beautiful. The fish totally ignored our pathetic attempts to catch them. So I spent $9 on a fishing license, bought snacks, bug spray, had to buy youngest burgers so he would stop whining....

Do you have any idea how much fish I could have gotten for what I spent today?!?!

:p

I'm not sure if this is a chain wide sale or just local, but our Piggly Wiggly Supermarket has Sunflour brand flour and corn meal on sale this week for $1.79 for a 5 lb. bag. They also have Lipton tea 2 for $3. Stock up time on these items for sure for me. I hope some of you can take advantage as well.

ETA: WZ fish won't bite in this intense heat :/ Spring and Fall is the best times to bring home a huge catch around here, so I'm waitin ;) Plus that's about the time the price of gas starts to go south too so I'll save even more :D
