The longest I ever kept potatoes was packed in peat moss in buckets with the lids on. Then I just stacked them in my garden shed. It was a normal winter and I used the last of the potatoes in February that year. I didn't do anything special, but I did only store nice sized ones with no visible bad spots or cuts. The little babies were eaten first along with any that were cut while digging.
I don't know how long they would have lasted because we used them up first.
