That is one seriously adorable baby!
I know nuttin' about goats, but it might make you feel better to hear that two of my four dogs have great big umbilical hernias, and they're all grown and healthy and they cause me all sorts of problems unrelated to their hernias :)

Also, I want some goats. This forum is like the opposite of AA for farm geeks.

Yeah, they are a pair, aren't they? I keep comparing their ears.....Ginger's huge airplane wings to Peach's tiny striped elf ears....I can't wait to tell people that we clipped her ears so we can train her to be a Doberman Guard Goat!!!
I love that idea! I will have to do that too.
We couldn't afford the doberman, so we got these here immitation dobermans, we even trimmed the ears :gig

I just checked all the goat books I have in the house and none of them have anything on hernias :(
I borrowed all they had at the library :p

After you loose a baby animal or two, you become aware of how fragile life is and how quickly something can kill those little babies. I panicked with my little goaties too, over every little thing I found that "could" be wrong. I would have to tell myself to take a deep breath and not jump to conclusions. Tha is why went to the library and got every goat book they had and spent hours online.

Knowing I can go to a vet just in case, does give me some sense of security, but unfortunately the vet I really trust and like, has decided to teach and only works at a vet clinic one day a week. And he is popular with a lot of people, so it is really hard to get an apointment with him.

I find that after doing the research and then letting it go, I usually come up with the right answer to the problem. These usually come to me as a thought popping into my head out of nowhere or in a dream.
Being that you do massage, I think you would be able to tune in on that spiritual knowing, and then trust yourself. And have faith. It pulls me through, most of the time. ;)
