Their personalities more than make up for the lack of ears. And just think...no frostbite danger!
I guess I'll be knitting ear muffs for Donki!

My goats got thelittle lamancha ears, all other ears look funny to me now.
I know what you mean about the nubian cry, that alone should let me know that Flower is the one with the nubian daddy
She gets sooo expressive and is quite bossy about it. We are just very fortunate that all the close neighbors love them and the noise they make.
I am starting to think about what to do to get the baby/milk workings going. Guess I'll check around to see about costs and availabilities :/ SO thinks he wants AI, I told him depends on the cost....

So far so good on the fencing here. However I went in the pen the other afternoon with an armload of hay and Donki trotted on out. She jogged about a bit and found a weed to nibble on. Luckily she let me take her collar and guide her back. I would like to make their pen larger this fall though.
An AT&T van was parked across from our house yesterday. DH got home from work and the guy started talking to him. Apparently he was eating his dinner after a call or something. Anyway he asked DH if that was a goat he heard. Donki was begging for some hay....
He's got goats himself and wanted to know if we knew anyone with a saanen buck. He knows about the farm where the vet who sold us the kids had his oberhaslis bred to a saanen buck, but that's where this guy got his does, so he doesn't want to use the same farm. He gets his hay from the same farm we do. He bought some elsewhere recently and the goats hate it. He alternated between the two hays and they showed a definitely preference for the hay from the farm we go to. A long winded way of saying, nubians ARE loud!
Hmmm, back to Free... sorry for the hijack!
