I have a prayer request. I got a call a little bit ago. Some kids were shooting off firecrackers at the local 4-H fair grounds and spooked a couple of a friend's horses. They cannot find the horses, it's dark out and thundering and lightening. Please pray for the safe return of the horses.
Will do. I hope they find them and the horses and everyone is SAFE! Horses can do a lot of damage, especially when spooked!

I've got a question to something that has always puzzled me. Why do so-called Christian religions develop elaborate rituals and customs that were never described in the Bible nor stated by Christ that they should be done or observed? I know of only two that Christ had indicated should be done/offered by the church on a regular basis and that was communion and baptism.

Who decided that those other rituals were a part of Christianity and why would they insist on them, I wonder?
A lot of rituals/traditions, were transfered over from pagan religions, to ease the conversion of people with pagan roots, over to Christianity. Just a few examples...Christmas trees, Easter eggs, and Easter bunnies, are all a part of our traditional "religious" holidays now, but they originated from similar pagan rituals and celebrations that coincided with Christian holy days. Most people just don't know the history behind it. :hu

DH's first cousin was on vacation in AL and fell from an 8th story balcony, very early Sunday AM. We will be leaving for her funeral in MS Saturday AM. Concerned about inlaws, due to the nature of this death. I also don't feel comfy, leaving my bayou, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I"m actually gonna see hills soon. Wow. Well remember my intentions please.

Thanks my friends. Just thinking that I'm not going into work tonight, but wish it were for something better. I can't believe at this time tomorrow, I won't even be in Louisiana. Don't like putting my kids in charge, even if some are adults. They don't do it like me.
If I'm not mistaken, the last time I was in MS, I had only one child....I now have 5. I don't get out much. There are enough locals leaving tomorrow, to have warrented us, just renting a bus. Be glad to get this behind me. DH feels pressured to attend.

I'll be praying. :hugs

Don't know what time it was, but they found both horses. The vet checked them out, and they're both OK. The owner is relived, and appreciated all the prayers.

Be safe Rhoda! I hope the trip goes well. :hugs

That's good news Deb, glad they are fine!

I rarely request prayer for animals....but my baby girl(niecey) called me crying so hard I couldn't understand her. Her puppy I just got her is very sick. We think it may be parvo and he has been her little shadow for the last three weeks, they are SO attached to each other! I hope you all will pray for little Banjo. She wanted this puppy for so very long, and he is a great little dog. I just about can't stand the thought of her losing him. He is lethargic, and won't drink much....I know God can do anything, please pray for her and her pup. This is breaking our hearts. :(
