My BIL gives me grief about not doing them myself, but never offers to help. :/

Sounds like you're a bit down lately, I think we all are in our own way. Hope it picks up for you!

I felt bad about not doing them myself when we sent ours to the processor, but I didn't have good equipment and did not manage to do correctly the one I did do myself before sending them. Not the one WZ helped me with, a different one :)

:hugs It will all be better G :)

Today I am officially tired. do we have an exhausted yawning smiley??? I managed to get through the 20 birds yesterday. With my complaining dh in tow. My sis and her dh showed up around noon. They had been in town for two days to see the air show. They usually hit my house on the way home for a visit. But because yesterday was butchering day they got a show here as well.

I kept apologising but explained to my sis that I had to get them done. dh and her dh sat around and yacked and had a beer. I trudged on which made it difficult because dh is my plucker.

But I made it. then we had plans to go to a friends b day party. I showered threw on some clean duds and visited whith friends for the evening. It was very relaxing, my friends BIL grew up in deep dark Mexico. His grandparents owned a store, which we both agree was a farm store. Anything they could produce on the farm. Lots of bread and baked goods, sausages, meats. This man is in his mid 60's and its amazing to listen to his stories. He is very animated and a bit hard to understand but when he describes things to you its in such detail. Like making rolls. You know he could probably do it in his sleep. He tells me if I raise anything he can butcher for me.

I was only drinking water last night. I was dehydrated and sunburn from standing in the yard all day doing birds. We made it home by 9 but I still managed to forget my purse there. I actually slept till 7 this morning. So you know when I sleep that late I must be beat.

Anyways some good has come of it. Dh and I both agree no more birds until he builds me a plucker. :ya :celebrate And my BIL says he might have a motor for me. So that is one thing I am going to follow up on.

Today is all about laundry. The kids are at church with grandma and grandpa so I am putzing. And enjoying every minute of it.

:D

Its Monday, :woot

I figure if I keep saying that it can't start off too bad. :fl

Dh had an early job walk today. We were up at 4 am. Had him fed and out the door. Now im vegging with the news.

Monday is laundry day. Woo hoo.

I need to run to the grocery for a couple things.

The news is saying we have a chance of rain on wed. Wouldn't that be nice. I think in between laundry loads I will try and work in the garden a bit.

Last night I moved all my chickens into the big coop. I had 8 pullets and two poult about 4 months old in a separate space. I need them all together before they start laying. The big coop is a bit crowded. I need to process a couple turkeys next weekend. Then take the older two hens to SIL ranch. I hope there is not to much grumbling in there today. I was thinking about leaving them in for the day. But I will probably them out mid morning.

I have started a list of things I would like to get done for fall and winter. Dh is not happy about it. Chopping and stacking wood, mulch for my garden etc.

Well that's about it for today.

Wednesday, October 5th

I just finished packaging up my chickens. I drug my fee because I wanted to give them time to "rest". I had 20 birds. I packaged up 12 dinner packs that averaged about 3 pounds each and shrink wrapped 8 whole birds.

My largest bird weighed 6 lbs dressed the smallest was 4.

My total weight was 98 pounds.

Not bad.

Glad these are finished.

I still have 3 turkeys to process and 7 more Freedom Rangers.

Other than that not much going on. Its cold here and we are expecting our first rain of the season. If it comes this far south. Typical house stuff going on.

Maybe I will make some coffee and come try to catch up here a bit.
