Revolution in Progress
Considering that my inlaws have very strong opinions on things I have learned well over the last 26 years.Ldychef2k said:I may be nuts, but it seems to me when two people are binding themselves together as one for the rest of their natural lives, someone else's opinion doesn't matter one bit. Your wedding should reflect your lifestyle, your personalities, your taste and your idea of a good time. There are a number of kind and loving ways to set boundaries when other people try to convince you to listen to them.
Maybe we ought to think of a few for you!
Anyone? Anyone?
First when an unwelcome or unwanted suggestion pops up....be gracious, after all they are only trying to help.....smile, listen intently then nod and say 'Hmmm, that is an interesting idea.'....then go get a beer.
When the next unsolicited ridiculous idea is launched .....smile, listen intently but mix it up by saying "Hmmm, you may be right!" ....then go get another beer.
Lastly when the final insult comes in the form of a suggestion that makes you want to slap someone......smile, listen intently and say "You may be on to something' then hit the potty before getting another beer.
This method has served me well thru the years
