Our wedding evening was much less breezy and nobody got wrecked. We supplied lots of nonalcoholic drink and a little of the other stuff to avoid that risk.
I always liked seeing him in his kilt and we can actually wear our wedding clothes for other occasions. We're in SCA so he wears his frequently in the winter, but 10 yards of wool is too hot in the summer.

Got that from Leahs blog!!

What a hoot!!! Demented, but a hoot!!!
Got curious, since that just sounded weird. I'm scarred. That was strange. Harmless, but strange.

Hope I am not being inappropriate, but sometimes people enjoy looking at pictures of what others did so they can get ideas.
I thought you were going to go somewhere else with that statement. Sorry.

Congratulations to Occamstazer and her fiance. :clap

Blush !!!

I know that I spent almost a year looking at pictures, hoping and wishing, and finally just went with my heart. Acted like a 52 year old idiot ! But sometimes pictures help, especially since I am a visual learner.

And you are a stinker !

Congrats to you both, Occamstazer! Awwww...his way of proposing was so sweet!

It's good to read that folks don't spend a minimum of $10000 on their weddings. Watching the TV shows was making me start to wonder.

When we got married 30 years ago, my sister made my dress, I used her veil, & the church was already decorated for Christmas. The reception was finger foods in the church basement, and the cake was made by a friend as her gift. It was cozy and perfect and fun, and it was a lot of fun getting it all organized beforehand. I never could understand why folks get so stressed out about it all.

Yknow, I never understood why people got so stressed either. Then I lived through today, when we told his and my family.
My family was alright, because I've only told immediate fam, haven't made phone calls yet.
His family, on the other hand, well...
I'm marrying into the Cajun Mafia, I think. There are a lot of them.
Lots of questions today. Lots of "suggestions", lots of advice.

I need a paper bag. Not sure whether to breathe in, or to vomit in.
Perhaps one, then the other.

Weddings are a test, to see if you really mean business and are willing to go through hell to get it

It's a happy madness, I'm glad everyone is excited. I'm just feeling a little shell-shocked. :hide
