we had a fire at our farm this spring. we still don't now how it started. I was home alone, and a wheeler stopped at the end of the driveway, but by the time I got to the door they left. about 10 minuets later they came back and came to the door and asked me if I knew the property was on fire? ummmm no... it burned over half of our property but thankfully left the big barn and house. it took out the old garage we were going to tear down anyway and an old chicken coop that had fallen in. it also caught a hollow tree and it took over 12 hours to get it out. it burned up against the house but it didn't catch.

yes very lucky! I would have been in the house and had it burning around my ears. it burned on the north and east sides and there was very strong wind from the south. we are off the road quite a way so don't think it was like a cigarette thrown from a car. we hadn't had the wood stove started for 4-5 days either. so we just don't know.

well, everyone wass telling me how expencive stuff was going at the local hillbilly auction. so I took 6 off my baby pedigree mini rex. even some off my magpies! they sold all 6 for $13.00 then they took tax and their fee. so I got $7.40 for the 6. really? nice looking laying hens brought $20.00 each, fancy pheasants brought $100-$150.00 per pair and peacock pairs were $300+. unpedigreed rabbits were $5-30 other pedigree rabbits were $1-5 each. heck I will eat the rest for that!

I went to check the game camera in the barn today and it was turned off.... hmmmmmmmmm…..

Heck, for that I'd eat them too! We took some lambs to auction and i was pleased with what they brought. I think that we will wean and take to auction next lambing!

When you take animals to auction, can you set a reserve? Of course... then... if they've been there, you wouldn't want to bring them back home.

I guess you could set a reserve. But like you said, if I take them I don’t want them back.
