Well :)

You can count me in, I am not ashamed of being a geek whatsoever.

A typical geek moment I had the other day. 3 of us sitting in a car, temps hitting 90s., melting there in a trafic jam, I just threw out: "Boy I wish we had an asghard transporter" two of us burst out laughing, with the driver making that look, when you know, you just had a geek moment. ":epWTF? you two scare me, get out of my car:smack:smack"

The brain slug was a present and is now feeding off someone else's brainwaves. If I kept it, it might have starved to death!

I come from a long line of nerds and geeks. I grew up watching Dr. Who and Batman etc. We had a library in our house!

Dad is a mensa member and all my siblings have great degrees from great schools etc. Mom is just as smart as dad, but she has a personality. ;)

Anyhoo, I didn't get that gene. I stick out like a sore thumb in my family. I'm not a geek or a nerd, just a dork.

My mom and I are best friends and I'm the only one that can get my dad to crack a smile though, so I don't care. :p

add me to the book nerd pile. i'm so compulsive about my books that i am a member of a book cataloging website (LibraryThing- highly suggested for other bibliophiles). when i was 4, i taught myself to read because everyone was too busy playing with my baby sister to read to me (as much as i wanted). when i ran out of regular "kid" books, i read the encyclopedia... and then cornered random strangers in stores to tell them about photosynthesis or amoebas.

yes, being a book nerd does include loving HP. i DON'T dress up for movies, but i've been known to have in-depth conversations on the literary connections within the series (a la John Granger).

i am compulsive about knowing everything about whatever subject i'm currently interested in. hence, the amount of time i spend on this website (along with a few others). it drives my family nuts.

and, of course, i'm such a book nerd that ALL of my birds are named after characters from books.

i have a serious Trivial Pursuit addiction. except, to my utter shame, i CAN NOT win the Book Lovers' edition. firstly, because no one else will ever offer to play with me (cause they are book nerds) and secondly, because it's hard as crap.

I guess I could be counted in the HP crowd....my son and I have had more HP marathons than I can count. His dad and stepmom made him stop reading the books because they were tired of his spell casting and ability to discuss something they weren't in to. He comes here and look out! lol I am also a Twilight junkie. Sad, but true. TEAM JACOB!

When I was a kid I grew up watching the OLD Star Trek, back when 'ol Will Shatner was considered a 'hottie'. I''ve watched many of the New Generation. Seen all the ST movies, and thought the latest one was great. I like Sci-Fi stuff, fantasy, etc. So yeah, although I don't wear the colors, I'm a nerd that way, too.

And goodness help the person that doesn't do chores correctly! I have a pattern/routine and every animal knows it. Nobody gets crazy, they know when their time is and they wait. Poor DH gave up taking care of the animals, he had them so confused the chickens and rabbits gave up on him.
