mmmm, to grill or not to grill, to bake in bread or not bake in bread, that is the question.... :drool

There's enough little siblings out there, I think zucchini pickles are in the canning forecast!!!!

today, Sour cherries, 20 lb
= Made and froze 14 packages of pie filling
= Snacked on some (plenty of jam left, so no need to make more)
= Remainder are in the dehydrator

I've counted 20+ zucchini squash in the garden I said something about bread, and DW asked in almost in a pleading voice You are going to make pickles and relish, too, aren't you? :love

I've mentioned before, we have friends moving next month - I found out today, they are okay if I keep tending their pepper and tomato patch after they leave, and I can take all of the veggies! (unless their house sells before that!)....

Lots of zucchini relish made last week, plus putting shredded zucchini in the freezer for bread during winter.

Ate my first tomato tonight! A little tasty cherry tomato, but it was good!

Need to get beets canned the upcoming weekend.

2011 Tally so far:
20 lbs strawberries, froze most of them
20 lbs sour cherries, 14 packages of pie filling, rest dehydrated
15 lbs blueberries, frozen
17 pints of zucchini relish + 16 bags (2 cups each) shredded in the freezer

Great job FJ!!!

I should do a quart count this evening.

I ate the best tomato yesterday. Not my first of the season but it was a big round heirloom. So I sliced it and ate it with a bit of sea salt and pepper for lunch. Yum!!!

:D

Goodness. My tally so far is about(haven't counted quarts because most are dehydrated)2 bushels of tomatoes, 3 pints(so far) of sweet relish, 3 quarts of pickles, 3 quarts of pickled peppers, 15 pints strawberry jam, 10 pints blackberry jam, 8 quarts of dried squash, a gallon of green beans frozen, a gallon of okra(so far), and....I can't remember anything else :hu So, anyway, I consider that as pretty good for now. :)

I haven't gotten enough from the garden to can this year yet, but we have been eating from it. Mostly a few small zukes, some raspberries (ate some/froze some), peas that haven't been nibbled on by varmints :somad, and 2 small cauliflower. Yesterday I picked our last cauliflower that was huge (atleast by my standards ;) ). I cut it into flowerettes and froze and as I get other ripe veggies I'll make my own frozen veggie mixes with some of it to be used in stirfry, soups, etc
