Chicken poo is a great source of protein, BTW!
My best dog ever came from a shelter and the one I have now was in a shelter before folks adopted her and abandoned her. The youngest dog was going to a shelter before I intervened.
How is it that the best dogs wind up in a shelter? My two shelter dogs came fully trained, house trained and obedience trained....beautiful to look upon, gentle in nature, eager to learn and natural LGDs. Now, tell me, how in the world does that happen to such good dogs?
Sort of like how good women find bad men, I guess....
These dogs just found the wrong owners. So glad they got recycled into my life instead! 
Can't wait for further installments on Kate's progress as a LGD!
