Post script on the rant

Today when I got home, John my youngest broke my house plants to smithereens. I had them outside, on top of the chicken house, just to keep them out of harms way. He was building a clubhouse, and just busted them all to crap. A huge aloe vera my momma gave me 12 or 13 years ago, a jade plant that was 3 feet tall that was 8 years old. I know he didn.t mean to....but that doesn't fix them does it. Embarressing, but I cried over that.

I appreciate ya'lls kind words and thoughts. It really means a lot, more than you know. I can't just stop trying, but it sure is hard at the moment. They say God won't give you more than you can handle, so I'm gonna keep the faith, and pray my wife and I can ride this out.

On a lighter note, Sunday was our 6 year anniversary. We are gonna celebrate next weekend though, I am taking us on a ghost hunting trip in OKC. The group is providing a dinner at a restaurant that is supposed to be haunted, followed by an investigation. If we catch anything wierd in our phots I'll post them for your viewing pleasure lol.

Thank ya'll again, and God bless.

You may be in luck about the plants. Aloe and jade plants are both so easy to root. If you have any of it left, tuck it back in some soil and it may recover. You may be able to get a group of smaller plants out of the pieces. Good luck.

Happy Anniversary ! :love :love

Dragonlaurel is right. Stick those plants in dirt. Pour on some water. Stomp your foot and tell them to grow. (I stomp my foot and demand that everything I plant grow).

Your anniversary plan sounds like lots of fun. And it sounds like you need a night out.

As for the SIL and your family. Just rant away. Its good to let it all out sometimes. And crying over the plants was probably a good thing. Tears cleanse the soul. I always feel so much better about things after a good cry.

Have a fun anniversary celebration!

In the Bible, it says "Jesus wept." I love this verse - God gives me "permission" to weep too. :D

Tommy you should make a project of the plants. Have your son help you replant them. I am sure he feels awful about what happened. Doing this together will make the healing better for both of you.

Yeah, I went out about midnight last night, picking up the pieces that would transplant. Thats a good idea about getting John to help. BTW, today was better. I talked the company owner into letting me sell my vacation time, so that will go a ways towards paying some debts.
My brother in law told me he thinks I'm crazy for paying my bills. Man that totally blew my mind. His advice is to "just have a good time". To be honest, I have known people whose actions say this, but never heard someone just vocalize it, and believe they're right.Unreal, huh. Talk about the grasshopper and the ant, he always manages to show up, wife and kids in tow, right at mealtime. Oh well...:p
I went to Orschelens today, and found the first issue of Urban Farm. It was pretty good. On page 107, loved the hanging frames for plants.
This morning, I was aggravated from the get-go. Just stewing over my aunt-cousin-wife situation. Anyway, got in behind this truck, and on the back was a sticker that had a Bible verse that said "Now is the time of the great Hate, so beware"(not an exact quote, but you get the gist). Man, what a message! I'm used to Jon 3:16 and others, but what an obscure verse, and it so applied to my situation and mindset. God sure speaks in strange ways...but I am glad.

God bless ya'll, and have a good one tomorrow.

Hey SS'ers, hows it going? Things are good here. Just trying to keep on track. We didn't get to go on our ghost hunting trip. It was a choice of going and being flat broke for days, or not going and scraping by till payday. So we chose(correctly in my opinion) to be frugal and not go. We are going do a make up...on October 2-3 there is a Bigfoot conference in Honobia Oklahoma that we will try to attend. In case you can't tell I'm kinda on a paranormal kick right now lol. Any of ya'll ever have any experiences, paranormal, Sasquatch, UFO, etc? Give me some stories, and I'll tell the couple I had several years ago :) .

On the SS front, had to get rid of our salmon faverolle roosters today :( . Living in town is no place for crowing roosters. Animal control came by, but they were really nice about it. He even located a lady who could take them. Her kids had some chickens earlier this year, but a dog got them. I went to her house, and she had a really secure pen(chain link) , and itsin the country, so its as good as it can be. On the bright side, that frees up room for a couple of more hens :D .

Have a blessed day tomorrow all(and share your ghost stories if ya got em )

No ghost stories but my middle son is the resident Sasquatch! We love the commercials about the jerky and "messin' with Sasquatch"!

Sorry about your roos, tommy! But good that you get to get more hens! :)

We have the pros/cons discussion whenever we want to spend money, too. Always better, we've found, to not spend if it isn't necessary. There are just so many things to do for fun that are free. ;)

Glad to hear your roos got a new home in the country.

More hens are a good thing. :)

That was nice of animal control to help you rehome your roos. It makes for a much better experience if someone goes out of their way to help you.

Glad you can replace them with hens.
