I lost my first dog, as an adult, March of 08. It was no fun. I still cry when I think of her.

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you all for the warm thoughts. I hate to admit it but I cried off and on for 3 days. I saw a guy in a jeep today with his bloodhound in the passenger seat...looked like Shredder with legs. But I didn't cry(wanted to though). But it will be OK....just gonna get through this.

Man, its been HOT here lately. Me and my crew feel like roast beef at the end of the day. My garden is hanging in there though(barely). Chickens are good also. gotta run, thanks again all.

God Bless

Well, folks...not really a whole lot going here lately. Mostly just trying to make a paycheck without getting heat sick lol. One of the guys at work the other day had a money situation happen and he was left high and dry with no food. I was sure proud to have home grown veggies, fresh eggs and some of my backstock on hand to help out till payday. I always knew fresh eggs were better, but you just don't realize sometimes till it comes from someone else.
My boy and I cleaned out the chicken pen and put in new hay today. We let the hens run all day while we worked, he was laughing at thier dust bathing. I also canned 4 quarts of pickles, 2 quarts of whole jalepenos mixed with whole habeneros, 5 pints of sliced jalepenos with a couple of habeneros sliced in them, and 5 pints of whole habeneros. I got 2 lbs of jalepenos and 3 of habeneros in the mark down basket at save a lot today. These are going to be passed out as gifts, because none of us are pepper eaters here lol.
The guys at work drink a lot of canned drinks, and the empties end up on the ground and ultimately in the trash. I cleaned out a large barrel for cans, and talked everyone into making an effort to recycle. I said when we get enough, I will cash them in and cook burgers on our grill at work. Just trying to help what little I can.

God bless, and have a good one.

Stay safe in the heat Tommy! And speaking of heat - WOW! I would have never thought to can habeneros!

I think it is a wonderful idea to collect the cans and use the money to treat the gang to burgers! It seems to me that you are a true blessing to your community. :clap
