Yay, lad your new chicks arrived....I would have had a very hard time leaving them...they are just so cute and 'peepy'!

Bummer about the jelly fiasco, but the upside it that you did not actually get burned! I have Carmel Apple Jam on my to do list, and frankly I am avoiding it because I hate canning. I scares me.

Enjoy your new fluffy butts this weekend!

Hey FF....what you did at the post office was pretty cool :)

OFG - so far so good - no losses and they are all acting fine. Not too stinky yet - we both know that won't last long

Dinner was fun - one of my brothers had to work and couldn't come. DH got stuck workin a double yesterday so he had to sleep so he could go back to work at midnight :( but hopefully he'll get paid overtime so it's all good

I made a ham and some cheese potatoes - didn't end up making the cake - no cocoa in the house wth? My cousin had given Mom some small sand pears that Mom gave to me on Friday so I ended up making a pear crisp for desert. It was pretty yummy the pears didn't get soft because of the kind of pear they are but it was good :drool Cousin brought a green bean casserole and rolls. We talked, ate and sat around and talked some more . . . good times wth family is priceless.

I put my original new zealand/giant mix doe in with my buck yesterday and I plan to put the other in with him this afternoon so hopefully :fl in a month I'll have some bunnies to fatten.

It's thundering out there and it was sprinkling a minute ago hopefully we'll get a little bit of rain :fl boy do we need it!

Gotta get a move on - need to run up to Tractor Supply for rabbit feed and do a bit of shopping for the week . . . and then get ready for another week of work and school.

It has cooled off here early it usually doesn't start cooling off until then end of October into November. I have had the a/c off for 2 weeks :celebrate windows open with fans. It's been high 40s at night and 70s during the day - absolutely beautiful!

I moved the meaties outside to one of my clampet style pens - it's 2 sections of picket fence put together with wire where it is needed. I added the tarp because it's been so cool at night

Here they are tonight they are 2 weeks old now:

I have to post this just because this is truly clampet style :D (This was a quick throw together because my 4 guineas and 1 young roo are in here cause they aren't old enough yet to turn loose with the grown ups and they were in the pen that I put the meaties in)

And my geese - I'm still trying to decide if I have 1 boy and 2 girls or 2 boys and 1 girl of course they don't pose very well, but can anybody can tell - I think it's 1 boy and 2 girls, 1 knob is noticeably larger and 1 is obviously small, but 1 is iffy :hu . . . .

I miss my D1's African "Clark". :(

He was such a good goose till the dog ate him. He used to always protect my D1 from the evil pizza delivery man. He could come and deliver the pizza, but he could NEVER leave! Clark would stand at the bottom of the stair with wings outspread and hissing horribly until my D1 had to walk the delivery man past. Good times. Good times!

That's funny I'm hoping mine don't get mean. So far so good but we haven't hit mating season for them yet. Dh's only experience with geese was bad so he is skeptical.

LOVE the pens! My hubby is so concerned about how everything looks....He wants everything that is remotely permanent to be neat and well constructed and pretty. Kills me. He hates it when I throw something together Clampett style! Hey, whatever works right? :thumbsup
