It's been a month since I made my very first cheese! :D And so a taste test was in order. It's been a good little cheese, sitting quietly in the fridge, getting turned every week. The cheese is easy to slice into and has a great milky-cream-yellow color. It also has little holes like swiss and it tastes very SHARP! It was wonderful by itself and heaven on a cracker! I approve!!! Onto cheddar! :D :weee :ya

Ah the power of cheese! :p
how do you make a wheel of cheese?
*sigh* i really need to start trying to make cheese
congrats on the good cheese!

Great news on the good cheese - I'd probably be afraid to taste any I made. Good news on the land prospect, too. :fl

Yay on the cheese!

Find out what is needed to build one day. Perc tests are needed here. Unless you want to go completely off-grid, how far are the nearest power lines? Etc. Sometimes inexpensive land is not buildable, so be careful. Otherwise.....Woohoo! You can also build a strawbale home.

Cool on the cheese!! I never made it past Feta, which was too salty but very, very good.

And good luck on your land idea. I would dearly love to have 15 acres. Alas, my 2 will have to serve me well.

And I live in a trailer! :p I'd like to have an underground or at least earth bermed house. Got my dream home all planned out in my head. Won't happen any time soon.
