a right wing white supremacist fanatic feels it is justifiable to shoot the children of liberals
Right wing means something different "over there". You can't apply our political system to this guy.

Did you read some of what he wrote?

"One of the most widespread manifestations of the craziness of our world is leftism, so a discussion of the psychology of leftism can serve as an introduction to the discussion of the problems of modern society in general."

I do not approve of the super-liberal, matriarchal upbringing though as it completely lacked discipline and has contributed to feminize me to a certain degree"

Some of his beliefs...
Breivik claimed he was member of secret Knights Templar society
Planned to hire 'two high class whores' the week before massacre
Believed women should be home-makers and not go out to work
Told followers to pretend that they were gay to avoid suspicion

The guy was a nut.

It makes me afraid of my fellow citizens. And I just can't envision the opposite happening- a wild-eyed liberal, taking up a rifle and shooting the children of conservatives at a Christian summer camp while pretending to be a policeman there to help. It just wouldn't happen, even in this violent country. What does that make us liberals? Suckers?

It would be interesting to know if people with liberal politics have ever committed a massacre such as this one. It makes me frustrated when convervatives (my DH included) fight against any form of gun control.
My heart goes out to the victims. The act in Norway was that of an isolated nut job. It's the US media that is playing this up as a "conservative" killer.

People with liberal politics are killing each other in cities across the country, one body at a time, with a body count higher than the tragedy in Norway. This is happening in cities with very stringent gun control laws. 2009 Crime statistics (sort highest to lowest on murder rates by city)

It's like people being afraid to fly because of plane crashes, although it's safer than driving to the airport itself. Bluntly put, it is the shock value of the number of victims that is thrown in our faces. We're blinded to the hundreds here that are lost one-by-one.

I cheated and peeked.

:hugs We all get discouraged sometimes when we see what's happening in the world. Reporters aren't assigned to cover the stories of people that are being nice, but lots of good things happen every day. I wish the news told more about the good side.

I read it too. Forgive me!

The tragedy in Norway is truly awful, and I'm sorry it's weighing heavily on your heart. :hugs Keep in mind that most people are kind and caring, and the love in this world outweighs the hatred of a few crazy nut jobs a million times over.

My TK mare died last night. She broke her neck running in the pasture, possibly from being spooked by the gunfire from our stupid neighbors in the middle of the night. We found her this morning- her head was so far under the body it looked like she was decapitated. It was instantaneous. And, she was elderly, but not looking bad at all- she would have had another 10 years easily.

Paree with her last foal, Mocha 3 years ago.

I'm so sorry to hear. It's never easy to lose one, and especially when it's sudden like that. You feel like you didn't have time to say good-bye.
