my bad. The uncle then...whoever it is...that's just crazy to not help them while they are still alive!! I lost a chick this morning to cocci :hit I have been so busy I had been letting DD do the brooder coop and she found one sick one in there. The others are perfectly fine, but I am treating them anyway, just in case. I can't imagine letting that go!!! :th

you could try..maybe cage her with a clutch of eggs and see if she'll take to them. That's just one of those things the hen has to be in the mood to do though as far as I have ever seen. If a hen growls at you while on the nest, that'd be the one to try it with. I guess it's worth a shot. They'll be more likely to go broody in the Spring though if you'll just be patient ;)

Jamie

I had a wonderful day! Sold a dozen hatching eggs and got rid of a rooster. FOUND a buck for a good price! I got the backyard cleaned up and coop bedding stirred and actually enjoyed some NICE weather! 73 degrees today!! It was beautiful!

The buckling is about 3 months old and he sure is a pretty boy! He is not registered, which is perfect, because that makes the price right :D He should be delivered tomorrow or the next day. Spud will be put on CL the end of next week to find a new home. He'll be 6 weeks old then.

I found all my shovels rakes and pitchfork and put them up...DH leaves everything out

The chickens are laying well again...the goats had them off for a couple days but they were back up to normal today. A couple of them took several days off. Any little change......

Anyway I have another dozen hatching eggs to ship Monday. Glad my girls are making a bit of money again :) Here in a couple weeks I have 5 chickens to deliver to a friend too. My flock is declining to make room for ME to hatch some more! :D :D :D

Speaking of....I sure hope my turkeys do better this year! The ducks still aren't laying, but it is close to time for them to start. Maybe I can slip some turkey eggs under them :D

When Spud gets sold I am going to start milking too.

Garden plan is coming along (Jamie!) and I hope to finalize everything by the end of next week. I am starting some onions, broccoli, and carrots in the next couple days. Oh....and potatoes, I almost forgot those :th I have to pick up some seed potatoes tomorrow! Don't let me forget!

That's my day on the farm...lotsa plans, some actions taking place, and I might have half of it figured out :p
:thumbsup

but, but, but, how could you forget 'taters? :p

I may have just sold my doe....for more than I gave for her from the posting of my buckling for sale. Sorry Claire :hu I guess if the guy wants her he can get her for that price and I can get a different doe...just happened so fast. Kind of strange how things work sometimes....

Opportunity knocks little bro. I found a place where I can get 2 does in milk for the price I gave for her. If I can recoup that cost...more milk. :hu A step in the right direction if ya ask me ;) PLUS I can retain her daughter for the future of the herd as well. Free goat sounds mighty good to me....IF I can pull it off :D
