Peas and carrots....like Jenny and Forrest, they go together, and GROW together, and mine are UP! WOOOT WOOOTTTTT!!!!!!! I am pitiful. :p I'm SOOOOOO happy happy happy because today I saw the first signs of my peas and carrots. I might as well have struck gold in that there dirt! :weee :weee Ahhhhhhhh....spring has sprung!!!!! :love

ALSO, I got some tires for my tater stacks....from the DUMP! Very SS and good for the local landscape...the "dump" is just a place where folks unload their garbage on a backroad :/ NOT LEGALLY :smack Anyway...

Better still, the tiller won't work and we are doing it all by shovel and hoe, and whilst diggin in the dirties I found out what happened to my purple onions from last year that never came up....I have about a hundred more onions now :woot :woot

And.....last but certainly not least...my tomatoes are IN THE GROUND FINALLY! :celebrate

Oh, and my other two hens started laying today :D

And...the goats are on their side of the fence, and the coop is clean and :th I think that's it

I have dirt under my fingernails and I LOVE IT! teehee :D

ETA: and I got my camera working again!!! Pics to come!!

Here's a pic of the flower garden out front, it's being cleaned and thinned out. I have the rose bush, Asiatic Lillies, Bearded Irises, and Tiger Lillies and Daylillies that you can SEE in there, the Gladiolas have not come up good yet, they will though, and THICK! :th

Looking good!!! So have you done potatoes in tires before?? Do you use anything other than straw to cover them??

I have not started mine yet but have some sprouting. Not sure what to do.

This is my first year going with the tires. I plan on just stacking more tires and more straw with just a little dirt in the next tires.

I just put a few shovelfulls of composted manure into the tire, laid the sprouting spuds on top, and covered with dirt, then straw. They have done beautifully!

I need to get some in the ground. Or in a tire or wire basket or something. My problem is I am out of dirt, well compost. I do have straw.

I need to go find another truckload of horsie poop.

hummmmm.......
