My ducks and ducklings are the worst about going in during bad weather. I never have to herd them in. They go in by themselves but during bad weather they like to cause problem litte manure heads :p
Mine just go water skiing down the slope in the backyard while the water is running down the hill. They are hillarious to watch during a flash flood type heavy rain
Mine are just purely retarded........the drake flew to the top of the coop roof one time (he cant now) and the hens used to roost on the METAL dog kennel. Its awonder Ihave ducks that are fried........

abi, sorry ya got wet!

Go ahead, folks. Can't have pond here. Stupid "protected watershed" rules. I did the research and I have no clue why the status other than politics. :somad

I do too...kinda, dig into the hill a bit, so that you're not just filling up with runoff, and berm up the valley side with the dirt you excavate. It should do fine really. We have lots of clay here, so we will have no issue with the ground holding the water in.

Jamie, that stinks. :( when I get mine done, I'll have to invite you guys for a fishing trip  I plan on stocking with Bluegill and possibly catfish. :D

At the end of the 1800's the Cuyahoga river was a prime source of water power for businesses in Akron as the river falls through the gorges north of Akron. Akron business leaders were able to lay claim (through the State Govt) to most of the surface water in Portage and Geauga Counties to ensure the water supply. We have beautiful lakes that can't be used because Akron owns the water. You're not allowed to "inhibit the natural flow" of any water in the watershed.

*this has been your Ohio history moment for this evening, thank you for your attention* :D
