she wanted to go back to public school didnt she?! i thought you mentioned something about that...

if so can you use this in some way to try and improve her beahviour? mabe a case of, this is a privledge not a right and if you fall off track, talk back/foul language ect then this will be taken away again...
make her earn it if its what she wants...(ive never met a teen who WANTS to go to school so it seems a ltitle odd to me...) shes certainly old enough to understand the concept of rewards for good behaviour...
unfortunatly 14 is a horrible age, (between 13-16 seems to be yicky) but mabe this could be good for her if you can work it in such a way?

Yeah we tried THAT last year and she was a little troll. We can't afford her books/tuition again this year, so she is going back. She wants the social aspect, forget the grades. She's straight A student otherwise, but she has a bit of A.D.D. and refuses to work if it isn't something that comes easy for her. In homeschool we can make her buckle down. Publik...let's her fall by the wayside. No teacher CARES like I care, and it frustrates me to know that is the environment she will be in, ad it is out of our control, completely. She made C's last year :hit Yes, I am aware that C is passing, but for a student who has the potential for A...it sucks. She made a 19 on her ACT last year, so no doubt the potential is there. I just know she doesn't care, nothing we can do except watch her not live up to her potential. She prooved to us last year she wouldn't work hard in P.S. to keep her grades where they should be. It is heartbreaking that she is so smart but just wastes it by acting so stupid :(

Yeh. Kind of odd we ask kids to make decisions about their futures at the age when they have the least clue. Teenagers suck. That's all there is to it.

Abi, sis, I could NOT have said it better. It really irks me that at this stage in her life, her future is in her hands...while her brain is MUSH?! It just doesn't make sense to do that to the children we love so much :hu It is against everything I have ever tried to teach her :/ In my mind, it is akin to letting your 9 year old play in the street, and most folks don't get where I am coming from on that, but all things considered...they both make about as much sense in parenting. *sigh* We have to go back Monday, no one there today qualified to fill out the forms. I have yet to figure that one out either :hu How much common sense would it take to write down what classes she wants and her name, age, D.O.B. etc. etc. yet nobody there was "qualified" to do the forms :th I really want to cry knowing my little mush brain baby is going into that place with THOSE "adults" :barnie

I'm frustrated!

Well, who is saying they're literate?

You should hear my customers on the phone trying to read me what it says on the screen.

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" is honestly difficult for about a quarter of my trouble shooting callers to read me.

That's exactly what I mean!! Goodness knows this country is headed in the right direction with this kind of folks running the education system. :th

Exactly!

But it's not going to change because people don't actually want it to change.

All change is bad, even when it's good.

Unfortunately. Tis true. Change is bad, any change that takes work is equated to being bad these days. :(
