I'll say it again, I'm in awe at your good bounty and your totally awesome attitude about sharing it with others. :ya

You just made my day better, because I got caught up in the "woe is me" attitude. Just needed someone else to have a great experience and be so positive about it. :weee

Have fun with your limes and watermelons - just saying, watermelon margaritas are pretty good. :hide

Wow! I just do not know how my life could get any better at this point. I have been given SOOOO much in the past few weeks, and my life is an absolute blur  I have a truckload of fresh produce to pick up to distribute, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE to do!!!

I am exhausted  Today was SOOO fun though! I took the first "package" of it to my mentally challenged disabled friend down the street. She is SO sweet! She was SO excited about what I was doing, she rode along with me for the rest of the day  We had a great time, and she helped IMMENSELY! She knows more families that were in need, and they were so blessed to get the food. Most of those families have small children under 10. I stopped back by "the barn" this afternoon to tell the coordinator how it had went, and to drop off a bag of items for the worker's(homeless guys) and they LOADED me down again with melons!!! I still have 8 in the front yard LOL! I plan on giving them out when I get the next load :D YES!!! I get to go out again tomorrow because he got another suprise truckload of spinach, jalapenos, and other assorted fresh goods. They will store what they can at the shelter, and distribute the rest, and I have to go back to the warehouse in the morning to load up what is left and hit the pavement again :woot My buddy wants to tag along again as well, so I will be picking her up first thing in the morning, then Saturday, God willing, me and her are going fishin

One family was so incredibly sweet. The lady has twins, boy and girl. One loves plums, the other loves watermelon and were so excited :) Anyway, the kids had outgrown their carseats, so she had washed them up and had them sitting beside the door to give to the church, along with a partial bag of Pull-ups since the kids had just been potty trained, she no longer needed those. She GAVE them to us! The very next house we stopped at, had need of those car seats! My friend knows a girl at church whose child can wear the pull-ups, so that was a huge blessing too. Such is the way it goes. The people we hand food to, often are very very giving and bless us with items while we're there to bless them..LOVE it! There is such a sense of community when I go out to distribute, and all of the folks are so sweet. You never know how things will wind up just falling into place, and how many people are blessed by what we have the blessing of being able to do for the community. I don't really know who gets more out of it. I sure sit here a rich woman this afternoon. Worn slap out, but rich indeed!

Bimpnottin, glad it brightened your day, it sure did mine!! :hugs No margaritas for me

Heh. I'm picturing you driving around and people randomly loading things in and taking things out, as they need 'em.

Sounds like you had a marvelous day. :woot

NINETY watermelons today!!! It was fun, but with being sick I got wore down quickly :( I am sooooooooooo much more tired today than I was yesterday! A few sweet folks insisted on donating today, and so I got a few bucks for the minisry to help pay their fuel costs. Since all of the food is donated though, that is truly the only cost they incur, so that was great :) Lots of happy folks in my neck of the woods this week. I had a blast, but am thankful tomorrow will not be so busy  I dunno who I could give it to anyway :hu The market for melons is pretty much saturated now. I still have a few left over even. Guess I'll eat one and see if I can give the others away this weekend.

A neighbor lady that I took a bunch of produce is GIVING me 200 canning jars and a HUGE stand of wild garlic!!! :woot PLUS her mom is going to show me how to use my pressure canner and teach me to can in it! I am soooo much better with things like that if I have guidance  They gave me a jar of sweet pickles and some juice tonight :) They are SO nice! I'm sorry I didn't go down there before and chat with them, btu I have always just been SO busy since they moved in we haven't had time for proper introductions. Anyway, all I have to do is clean out the canning jars, they are full of old food at her dads place. He hasn't had time or health to fool with them, he has cancer and is going through chemo :( He's such a sweet man though. He offered the garlic, and she mentioned the jars and said if I would clean them out he didn't care as long as they went to a good home and would get used :) What precious people. I get to share my okra with them too, and they want to buy my excess eggs as well! The kids want to come see my goats :love Those twins are THE CUTEST!! I think this is the beginning of a wonderful new friendship, and I have gained SO much through these folks. What a blessing!
