Mornin Sir Jamie :)

I got woke up by a really scary dream :/ It was one of those super realistic ones that makes you think it is really happening. I came out of the bedroom with a loaded pistol in hand and got a stupid look from DH. He just doesn't know how to appreciate somone tryin to save his life  They had shot him in the forehead with a tranquilizer...I HAD to do something, right? Stupid "guard dog" is still laying in there snoring

It has been a load of fun :) And yes, I am very happy. I'm generally happy even when things aren't going my way(though I have my moments of freaking out), but the last few weeks have just been an absolute ABUNDANCE of blessings! I want to get as much details of it typed as possible so I have something to go back to and read when I am feeling down again.

I need to make some sourdough starter for my new friend. She was asking me about it last night and I told her I would fix her right up. What's so strange about this lady, is she is about where I was a few years ago, and is just a few years younger than I am and she is like a sponge...just soaking it all in! She'll have goats before long I think! I told her if she wanted to help in the garden, we could share it, and she was ecstatic. I'll be taking her some okra today after I get off my tail and go pick it.

This chest cold is kicking my booty but thanks to all the advice here it no longer feels like I am getting bronchitis :woot I'm just still a bit draggy. My body is very obviously bringing out the big guns to fight this mess off. While the feeling of tiredness is annoying, I am glad my immune system is doing what it is supposed to. I utterly loathe antibiotics!! I'm praying I won't have to get any.

I would rather put this up as a poll, but since we don't have that option

Black Beans:
1. Just seal them up dried
2. Soak and can
3. Cook and can

What say you?

Hmmmm....I'd do dried because it is SO much simpler, and I am a lazy bum  Seriously..I'd do it because cooking them heats up the house. I have frozen a bunch of stuff to work up and can when the temps drop some. Otherwise, you may burn up all the money you're saving by running the excess air conditioning. Even if you do them outside...I'd wait for cooler weather. :hu Just my opinion though ;)

:thumbsup

I tend to be joyous inside even while having a melt down. But even though I'm pointing and giggling at myself, the meltdowns suck. *laughs* So it really is nice to have a record of how awesome things can be :D

I should have no trouble getting a deal like this once I move north. I know a LOT of people with gardens/small homestead that would love the help. So probably my Sundays off will be spent at various gardens, learning how to not kill things.
