Super Self-Sufficient
cheerio, it can be but not usually with rex buns, rex of both sizes are typically good mommas...
theres definatly something going on with this doe...
bottle feeding isnt usually sucessfull, but you can pull the babies in their box and bring momma in twice a day to feed (restraining her if nessicary) then removing her once the babbits have fed...its a little more work, and it may or may not be worth it.
most females will kill a littler for one of a select few reasons.
1: she feels theres a threat, generally this is only a kit here and there though rather than an entire litter, they generlaly will kill a kit thats making alot of noise or over active ect...worried that itll bring too much attention to the nest.
2: she knows theres something wrong with the kits
3: shes a hormonal whack job
my guess is a nervous hormonal whack job who may or may not belive theres something wrong with the kits...
i think personally id re breed her and pull the next litter after their first feed...then raise in the house...see what happens, if the kits fail to thrive, she knows something we dont know...if the kits do realy well though its hormonal whack job and she needs ot be removed form the breeding program unless you want to conitnue pulling her litters...
shes a pretty girl, but im not sure shes pretty enough to make it worth the extra work involved with pulling the litter...
