Wow head gasket. Your way braver than me. I've helped change them before, but never on my own. If I remember right you have to take off the ac to get to it and that's a bugger in itself. At least it was on my old car. Alternator or starter I would change no problem, but motor stuff scares me. :hide I need to get set up so I can sell plants and chicks. I could really use the money and it's something I enjoy doing, but my shed needs so much more work before I can do that and my greenhouse is still not completely finished. Uhhh... Sigh. Maybe next year. You are giving me ideas though! Everyone should be scared! :hide If I can get a couple more water heater thermostats and old refrigerators or lumber I could set up some more brooders....

I'm a bit intimidated by working on a motor. I have worked on them before though. I used to work on all my cars myself. After changing the rear wheel bearings in my 75 Mercury Comet years ago...nothing much bothers me when it comes to working on vehicles. THAT was pure torture :hide

I hope you do get a lot of plants and chicks and everything going to make some cash too Rebecca! :D It's a lot of work, but it's enjoyable work.

:) I spent too many days and nights working in the cold, the rain, and the snow on cars, trucks, and tractors to ever really considering to enjoy engine work. :)

I love working on cars, although I admit, I'm much better at diagnosing the problem than fixing it! My brother made me do all my own repairs (with his supervision). Once he let me tear down an engine, so I could see what all the pieces and parts looked like - big mistake, we never did find all the pieces

 I don't believe in doing difficult jobs if you can't have a little bit of fun doing it ;) Some folks take it too serious :hu
