I'm slowly catching up to ya all. Picked up my new chicks late this afternoon. Waited this late because the last 3 years it snowed the first week I had them. Guess what? Snow showers tonight!!!!!! I have an impromptu brooder set up here in the computer room next to the desk.....

Hope your aquaponics goes well. Mine is temporarily scrapped. The pump is starting to give problems and not wanting to work and the one fish we got to live in the tank died. So I am going to need to get a pump. So today I took down my growbeds and filled them with soil and planted carrots and onions in them.

Well if you have 9 hatch...and half are boys, you should have 4 or 5 layers...that's a pretty dang good start on Del's! I'm tickled with that!

The roo is the most important selection in the flock IMO. I have had a few really dumb ones, but most of the Del boys are really good. Watch how they react to the ladies. Mine is very protective. Him and the male turkey will line all the girls in the yard, ducks and all, up against the fence under shelter and pace back and forth when a large bird flies over. It's awesome, and funny as heck too
