Oh, WBF! That sure is a fine pig! Wish I lived closer - I would sure love to help that guy out and take a couple of those runts!
DH checked on pigs locally - as you may remember, here in MI everybody is freaking out about the pig law and, apparently, that means the price of feeders should shoot sky high - well, a 4-H feeder was $100 :ep Same size feeders that were going for $45 a couple months ago! :tongue I see holding off on getting a couple pigs in my near future :hit

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few have pipped as well, but it seems on course. Almost all of the BSLs are hatched, the buffs and doms are hatching good. The Dels are next in sequence. I have humidity high in the bator, so I can move the chicks out.

Here in MI, if you have the wrong color pig, the DNR comes onto your land and kills it. Right now, they have only killed them at game preserves, plus one guy saw them pull up, walked out his back door and shot all 12 he had, but the law is pretty vague and the general thought around here is, once they're done with the preserves and still have a problem with feral hogs, the farms are next. :/

It is a law to control feral pigs, the heritage pigs resemble the feral ones. Thus are targets, I am assuming.

there CLAIMING its to protect the land form feral pigs...but i think it has more to do wiht big ag than the risk of ferals...
pretty much any pig thats not WHITE/Pink looks close enough to be "feral" to be shot on site...they dont need to get proof of breed, they dont need to askquesitons, your not given a chance ot prove your pig is such and such a breed...they just kill em...and from what im reading you cant even keep the bodies for meat...
so pertty much anything with black or red spots or patches, anything "wirey" haired, ect...
its insanity and discusting and im personaly pretty sure its got alot to do with that company thats trying to claim all legal rights and copyrights on a certain pig breed...

Thank God I live in the South! There aren't near as many stupid livestock "laws" around here, and I hope it doesn't get that way. If it does I may have to move further South....to Mexico :p
