Chicken tractor is almost done. I need to pick up hinges for the lid, and paint it, and get the tar paper and shingles on the roof. Then I need to fix all of DH's mistakes :hide He just doesn't understand what I wanted and why. There are no cleats on the ramp, the wheels are too high at the moment, and there is currently no way to close them into the coop at night because he made the ramp stationery. He also added wire under the coop, which is unneccesary. So I have to add hinges to the ramp, add cleats, pull off the wire from under the coop, adjust the wheels, add in a nest box, add tar paper and shingles, add hinges to the lid, and paint it. I also have a ton of other things to do today, like clean up from the party last night(neighbor kids birthday)where we had the bonfire, pick up all the tiki torches, stack the chairs, and then I have shopping to do, and this afternoon is my family reunion pot luck which I so totally forgot about. It's my mothers mothers side of the family, and all my cool great uncles will be in from all over creation so I REALLY wanna go. My 76 year old uncle from N.C. is a trip. He bought a Hummer just to drive down here in last time  They all are pretty well off, but don't flaunt it(too much, the Hummer was hillarious, you'd just have to know them), so we all get along great. They love my chickens, and farm life, can't wait to tell them I got a pig now :D Uncle Big is supposed to be in too, and I haven't seen him in over a year. He IS 7 ft tall and a hair over. When I was little I was amazed by my giant uncles  I wish they all lived closer...I miss them. I'll get to see a bunch of second, third, and fourth cousins I don't see regularly as well. CAN'T WAIT!! I LOVE big parties! :woot It starts at 4, and I gotta cook something.....so busy busy day here.

sounds fun! we used to have huge family get togethers at my nans house for christmas, EVERYONE on my mums side came...but when nan got sick (alzhimers/demensia) noone "had the time" anymore and of course we moved to a completly different country so there was noone to "pull it togehter" once nan was gone...
Such a shame too because it was always such a full fun filled day, food, laughs company...and then everyone drifted. mum feels guilty about it cause she thinks she could have kept it together like nan did each year, but i keep telling her, if they WANTED to continue they would have...people would have simply not come whether she put on a big spread/invited everyone ot not...like everything else in life...life gets in the way and families often drift apart...its one of the big reasons i want them to move down here...along with the better quality of life overall (time to sit back and watch the stars) but to keep family together...Here friends and family are HUGELY important parts of life...
in CT its like families are just biding their time untill they can "have thier own space back" you hear parents talking about how thye cant wait for the kids to go to college/move out so they can turn the bedroom into an office or gym ect...and how itll be "nice to have time to ourselves" where as here in the south familes seem to...for the most part...seem to enjoy each others company alot more.

You sound busy as usual Cindi :p Have fun at the reunion, we are bonfiring tonight. :D

But yeah Pinky you have a point, a point I noticed myself with my Dads Family and Moms Family. Dads family is more like if it is convenient, etc. Not very tight nit. We (moms family) are inseparable, but of course we live together. But even before that we were very close. We are like Auntie's kids, and she is like our other Mother. Then we all just get along, and miss one another's company when we are gone. Then we have two friends who I think would not be very happy (emotionally/mentally) without us, they are in a bad situation. They come out a lot and we go places together. So yeah I wouldn't make it in CT.

I want my kid to move out half the time too  She has gotten better...dunno what caused it, other than all the prayers, but she is a little angel compared to the snotty way she was treating me and her daddy. I LOVE having her here right now though. She is pleasant, sweet and thoughtful lately. I dunno where the inner evil troll went, but I hope it stays gone forever! :D

On another note, yes, family and friends only act like family and friends if they are treated as such. Lots of folks don't know, or maybe don't realize how exactly to go about treating people anymore. I have friends who would do as much if not more for me and mine, than my own flesh and blood, but truly, in some instances, it is my own fault, because I nurture some relationships and sometimes take others for granted. Sometimes it is becuase life gets in the way, other times...it's because I don't like them so much :hide Some family is difficult to like :hu It's especially difficult if you have nothing but blood in common. Family, IMO, has NOTHING to do with DNA. My girls don't have a common DNA with me, but they are, and forever will be, MY girls, and they know it. ;) Even when we are at each others throats :p

It's about to rain out our reunion. That's okay though. Where it is being held, is a two story house, it'll be cramped with all of the clan, but I miss everyone enough it's worth the extra effort :)

Didn't finish the coop, got the roof on, tried to get the ramp fixed, but will have to take chickens out to do it properly  Can't/don't have time for that at the moment. Guess I better get them put in before the storm though. Then off to the shower, and then the reunion. See you all soon! :weee :weee :weee

I had a BLAST! I JUST got home. I wound up having to go get my grandma, because nobody else would take her, because she is being snarky, but for cryin out loud, she is still grieving the loss of her husband of 35 years :barnie Let her be snarky, let her say what she wants, but take her out and let her have some fun! Some of my family..... :smack I tell ya, people need to remember to respect their elders around here. :somad

Anyway, I took her, that alone added a couple hours to the trip, because she can't hardly get around, and I had to load her walker and help her shuffle along, but we made it just fine ;) She fussed a bit, but i know she had fun :)

We left at 8:30, got grandma back to my aunts house at 9:45...she had to stop by her house and i had to go in and get a few things for her. Then we dropped the boy off(DD's BF went last minute) then we came home and ate supper. :p

I am tired! Niecey came home with us, I knew that was coming  She's staying a few days. Mom is being EXTRA bossy and won't let her stay longer like she usually does  Anyway, she'll be here until Tuesday.

I have pics to post tomorrow sometime, but for now......I really need to help DD with dishes so she can get a shower and get ready for church ;)

See yas!!!!!!!!!!!!
