theres a bunch of wild branbles with berries on them but the berries are tiny tiny and very sparce...i think years of neglect on the canes has just got them kinda biding time.
i figured the hatch rate on shipped eggs in general woudl be low...but i can get 12+ sweetgrass eggs for about $40 (inc shipping) or pay $230 for 15 day olds lol.

I am looking for wild berries to do some more jams :D They are much harder to find than when I was a kid. I know where a nice size patch is around here, and out at my brother's place. I need LOTS for the ammount of jam I want to make though.

About to head to the Extension office here shortly and see about that permit. DD is going to her boyfriends house, and i need to wait to see her off then go get it. I HOPE they still have a few available!

Hillarious even ;) I JUST got home :th

After I went and got the permit and checked things out at the market I went and got the neighbor. WE went to Stantonville and got 50 pounds of onions, 100 pounds of beets, 5 pounds of peppers, 15 pounds of squash and about 75 pounds of green beans and 20 pounds of cabbage from the Mennonites. Then we went to WalMart with my coupons and got 40 cases of canning jars. :ep yeah, FORTY CASES...any idea how ridiculous we looked with two carts LOADED with jars coming out of there  We wiped out a whole shelf to the tune of just a hair over $300  Total savings.....$60 :D Anyway, then we stopped off to get niecey, and came to my house and unloaded half the jars, then to her house and unloaded the rest and split the onions and cabbage. Then i took that stuff back to my house. I sat for an hour and trimmed 8 quarts of strawberries, then went and got 3 dozen eggs from my cousin to set, and 8 dozen from the Mennonites to set. Then we went to Savannah to get DD from her boyfriends house. THEN I came home fixed dinner and here I is. I got a call on the way home to be in Savannah tomorrow morning for about 200 watermelons and several cases of broccoli.

Somehow I am supposed to go to the farmers market and sell AND get rid of a crap load of melons and broccoli tomorrow AND take DD to the doctor AND entertain an 8 year old.....oh yeah which reminds me I have to watch the other niece tomorrow too :D :th AND I have to go pick blackberries and pick beans again in the morning. AND I ave to find time to make jam somewhere in there because I have berries piling up all over the place. I guess I'll get on that tonight :hu

:barnie :barnie I'm not busy at all   :gig

Oh, and I got my Cream legbar eggs in today too :D :D :D :D

Pink, do ya happen to need some watermelons? Like 50 or so

Wow girl, when you take on a project, you take on a PROJECT. :ep And now you have even more jars than I do

How did the jam-making go? Or did you just pack it in and go to bed?
